BALLER MOVE: Consider in 14+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR4
ANALYSIS: Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce remains a fringe fantasy option in deeper leagues. He ranks as a modest WR4 option in leagues with 14-plus teams as the Colts get ready for Saturday's clash against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Pierce has delivered shaky week-over-week production this season, ultimately posting double-digit fantasy points just once (Week 13 when he totaled 100 yards and one touchdown). On a positive note, though, he has been very involved on offense. He has played more than 90 percent of snaps in all but one game this season, which is more than Michael Pittman Jr. and Josh Downs.
The second-year receiver's involvement on offense makes him worth considering for fantasy lineups, at the very least. Even though he hasn't been a top option this year, the fact that he is almost always on the field gives him a real opportunity to produce.
Pierce also benefits from a favorable matchup. The Steelers have allowed 165.3 receptions and 19.4 fantasy points per game to opposing receiver rooms this season. There's no guarantee that Pierce has a big game, but the odds are in his favor. He's a low-floor, high-upside player who warrants consideration as a FLEX option in 14-team leagues (or deeper).
