Tua Tagovailoa is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for quarterbacks. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 14 of the 2021 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: For the production Tua Tagovailoa is handing his fantasy GMs, it's rather surprising to find him rostered in fewer than half of Yahoo leagues these days. Now, that's good for those of you squeezing the WW weekly, and even better considering Miami is entering its late Bye week this next weekend. That means that you won't be able to exploit Tua's talents for a couple of Sundays, but that also means that his rostership will go down and give you the chance to stash him if you have room to then deploy it when it matters--aka the fantasy football playoffs.
Tua has played four straight after missing Week 9 injured. Prior to that one-game absence, and in the W6-to-W13 span, Tua has averaged a fantastic 17.9 FPPG while only falling below the 15.2-mark twice (he finished with 11.3 and 11.2 FP in W10 and W12 respectively). Tua has finished every game he's played this season as a top-23 quarterback (not counting Week 2 when he got injured having barely played) and has four top-12 finishes at the position so far--yes, that means he's been a top-tier QB in half of his games.
This past Sunday, facing the Giants, he completed 30 of 41 passes for 244 yards and a couple of touchdowns. He's avoided getting picked off in back-to-back games and in three of his last four (in the one he threw an INT he also threw for 2 TDs and 273 yards for a QB11 finish). Tua is not available for Week 14 but comes with very high upside ROS after that Bye, so if you're streaming the position and can afford to stash him, definitely do so, deploy him when Miami is back, and reap the fantasy playoffs rewards.
