San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch said that the team will pick up starting offensive lineman Mike McGlinchey's fifth-year option for the 2022 season. McGlinchey will be guaranteed $10.88 million for the 2022 season. San Francisco drafted him with the No. 9 overall pick in 2018 out of Notre Dame. McGlinchey had a 79.7 overall grade and a 91.3 run-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus last season, which were both career-high marks. But McGlinchey also had a career-low 58.3 pass-blocking grade in 2020. The 26-year-old has started all 44 of his NFL appearances in his three years with the Niners, but he'll need to get better in pass protection if he's hoping to stick around beyond the 2022 season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
