Bengals wide receiver (WR) Mike Thomas is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup to target as a free agent addition for Week 6 of the 2020 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: This will become the most savage move of any fantasy GM in your league if you pull it off, believe me. Thomas' upside is entirely tied to A.J. Green's status after he got sidelined this past Sunday with (supposedly; there are some "trade-me" conspiracy-whispers out there) a hamstring injury. If Green misses time, then Thomas should be in line for more opportunities as the WR3 of the Bengals against the Colts in Week 6.
While Thomas has played in all five games this season, he's topped at 33 snaps played (Week 5, with Green out) and prior to that he only logged more than 16 once. He's just not been taken into much consideration, let's say gently. Thomas has been targeted 11 times and he's caught 10 of those passes (good) for just 68 yards (meh) and a touchdown (not bad).
Thomas is worth a look in deep PPR-format leagues, but that's pretty much it, even with Green out. That's because his usage has been growing smaller each passing week, with his targets falling from 4 to 2 to 1 and 1 in the last four games even though he's reached a season-high in snaps.
With Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins carrying the receiving corps, there is only room for another wide receiver and it seems like it will be a rotation comprised of Thomas and Auden Tate. Ultimate flier-target for desperate GMs in ultra-deep PPR leagues, but there are always needy fantasy managers looking for heaves and what-ifs out there, right?
