FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (5/25/19): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Joel Bartilotta highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 5/25/19, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

It's Saturday and that means we get yet another full schedule. One thing to keep an eye on here is the weather though. About half of the forecasts have rain projected and it's definitely going to be imperative to keep an eye on that before submitting lineups.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/25/2019. The picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

We also provide DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me on Twitter @Bartilottajoel

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Hyun-Jin Ryu, LAD at PIT ($11,000)

It's crazy just how lofty this price has gotten but Ryu has earned every bit of it. In fact, Ryu is posting a 1.52 ERA and .074 WHIP, which actually both lead the Majors. That pairs beautifully with his 59:4 K :BB rate, .222 wOBA and .262 xwOBA, which all show that this is no fluke. That makes him worth picking against anyone, especially a weak offense like the Pirates. Pittsburgh currently ranks 21st in wOBA and 27th in runs scored while playing in one of the best pitcher's parks in the majors.

Mike Minor, TEX at LAA ($9,200)

I never thought Minor would be in one of my articles at the beginning of the season but it's hard to argue with his stellar numbers. Since a terrible opener against the Cubs, Minor is posting a 1.95 ERA and 1.10 WHIP over his last nine starts, striking out 64 batters across 60 innings of action. Those are simply dominant numbers and it really makes him an intriguing option against the Angels. Against lefties this season, Los Angeles is posting a .210 average, which happens to be the worst mark in the league.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Daniel Murphy, COL vs. BAL ($3,700)

Murphy hasn't given us a whole lot of reason to use him this season but he's got way too much potential to be priced this cheaply. We're talking about a guy who had a career .299 average entering this season and is posting a .917 OPS over the last three years. He accumulated all of those numbers in much tougher ballparks than Coors Field and I truly believe that he'll hit over .300 for the remainder of the season. Facing Andrew Cashner is a good way to get him going, with Cashner posting .371 xwOBA this season and Murphy getting the platoon advantage from the left side.

Jonathan Schoop, MIN vs. CWS ($3,300)

The Twins are simply absurd right now and it's always worth using any of their players under $4,000. Schoop has been one of the major pieces of this top lineup, with Schoop hitting four homers over his last four games. Getting to face a lefty like Manny Banuelos is huge too, with Schoop posting a .798 OPS against southpaws since the beginning of 2017. Banuelos' numbers are embarrassing too, with the southpaw providing a .396 xwOBA and .426 wOBA to match his 7.26 ERA and 1.87 WHIP.

Nolan Arenado, COL vs. BAL ($4,700)

After hitting two homers on Friday, Arenado is probably the best option on the board. The main reason why is because of the Rockies facing Cashner. While Cashner's overall numbers arent terrible, his .371 xwOBA has him squarely in line to get blown up in Coors Field here. That's why the Rockies are projected for six runs, which is easily the highest total on the slate. Using Arenado at home is always profitable too, with the slugging third baseman posting an OPS just shy of 1.100 at home for his career.

Corey Seager, LAD at PIT ($2,900)

Seager finally appears to be finding some rhythm at the plate and he's simply too good of a player to be priced below $3,000. This is one of the best pure hitters in baseball and he'll inevitably get closer to $4,000. Recent results are really promising, with Seager averaging 11.6 FanDuel points per game over his last 13 outings. That's the Seager of old and the fact that he has a career OPS over .800 against righties only adds to his intrigue.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

David Dahl, COL vs. BAL ($3,600)

We want to stack Rockies here and Dahl makes for a great fit at just $3,600. Since joining the club last season, Dahl is posting an .881 OPS against right-handed pitching. His numbers at home are just as impressive, with Dahl posting a 1.024 OPS at Coors Field in that span. That's all you can ask for from someone below $4,000 and it's tough to fade him in the heart of the highest-projected team total on the slate.

Kyle Schwarber, CHC vs. CIN ($3,200)

Schwarber has really found his stride since moving to the leadoff spot in the Cubs order and it's completely revived his career. Over his last 10 games, Schwarber has collected four homers, 10 runs scored and eight RBI while posting a .390 OBP. That's downright impressive and it's clear that the move to the leadoff spot has really helped him at the plate. Using Schwarber against right-handers is a profitable endeavor as well, with the slugging outfielder posting an OPS just shy of .850 against righties for his career.
