We have an eight-game slate tonight where there are many teams in action who are in the playoff hunt, so no rest for them as the season comes to an end. You should be looking at teams in higher over-under games, due to the potential for plenty of scoring.
Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 3/2/19. DFS Forwards to Consider
Steven Stamkos - C, TB vs OTT (FD - $8,700, DK - $7,800)
The Lightning are going to be the chalkiest team on the entire slate tonight for a few reasons and even though they are super expensive, you should be looking to pay up for them tonight. We know they are the best offensive team in the game, but this matchup is so insanely good, you NEED exposure to them tonight. They are facing off against the Senators, who are dead last in the league when it comes to Corsi Against, meaning they are giving up far too many shot attempts per game. The Lightning are MASSIVE -440 home favorites and with an over-under sitting at 6.5 goals, most of the scoring should come from their side.
Frank Vatrano - W, FLA vs CAR (FD - $4,300, DK - $5,000)
Vatrano is a GPP option only tonight since he has no points in his last four games, but is on the second power-play unit for the Panthers, who are in a coin-flip game against the Hurricanes. He is up on the second forward line, which makes a good stacking option and is very affordable on both sites, which could allow you to do a game stack. The Panthers come in scoring 3.5 goals per game over the past month, which is surprising since they are firmly out of the playoffs, but haven't given up on us for solid fantasy production.
DFS Defenders to Consider
Justin Schultz - D, PIT @ MON (FD - $4,600, DK - $4,400)
With Kris Letang out due to an injury for the Penguins, Schultz is now up on the top power-play unit, which gets you exposure to Crosby and Malkin. He is cheap on both sites tonight and you should consider using him in a stack tonight since we have the Penguins coming in as road favorites versus the Canadiens who are on the second night of a back to back. This means the Habs should have their back up goalie in net and with this game having an over-under up at 6.5 goals, the scoring should be going both ways.
Mark Giordano - D, CGY vs MIN (FD - $6,600, DK - $6,200)
If you want consistency when it comes to a defender, look no further than Giordano for the Flames, who is also up on the top power-play unit. His floor of nearly three shots per game and two blocked shots per game is great for cash games, while his exposure to Monahan and Gaudreau on the power-play unit is where multi-point upside comes from. The Flames are -165 home favorites and are looking to hold on to their slight lead in the Pacific division.
DFS Goalies to Consider
Tuukka Rask - G, BOS vs NJ (FD - $8,800, DK - $8,300)
Rask should be one of the chalkiest goalies on FanDuel tonight since he is a bit cheaper compared to Vasilevskiy but still comes in as a -290 home favorite against the lowly Devils, who are on the second night of a back to back. The Devils have an expected Corsi For set at only 41, which means they won't be taking a ton of shots, so Rask won't be under any real danger all night, but that he won't have the ability to rack up points from saves. You trade off upside, for the safety and the win.
