The Pittsburgh Pirates signed free-agent outfielder Daniel Nava on Tuesday, according to a source. The expectation is that he could become part of a left field platoon situation. Nava landed on the disabled list three times in 2017 for the Phillies and has played in just 134 games in the past two seasons. When he was active last year he hit well, slashing .301/.393/.421 in 214 plate appearances. The Pirates have some opportunity in the outfield now that Andrew McCutchen is gone, but Nava doesn't have much fantasy upside as a fourth or fifth outfielder in a young group of upcoming outfielders. Perhaps he'll be a steal based on specific matchups against right-handed pitchers in DFS games.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
