FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (06/05/17): MLB DFS Advice

The top FanDuel daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for 6/5/17 by Tom Vecchio. Expert MLB DFS advice, sleepers & player recommendations for FanDuel.

We have a seven game slate to start a new week, and there are some interesting options on the board. There is no sure fire cash game option, so you might need to get creative with your lineups. Might be a good time to take some shots in tournaments if you are normally a cash game player like myself. The PHI @ ATL game is the only one with weather concerns as of now, so be sure to check in on that before first pitch.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 6/05/2017. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options, and of course, value plays

Offensive Stacks

Atlanta Braves vs Nick Pivetta

Pivetta has really struggled this season, and hasn't pitched more than five innings in any of his starts. He has also allowed five or more hits in three of his four starts this year. He is getting hit early and often, and in a hitters park like the Braves, this is the spot you want to target him. Love the lefty power bats for the Braves, and they might be lowered owned since this game has some weather concerns, so some people may shy away from it.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Carlos Martinez - P, @ CIN ($10,000)

Martinez is usually a great cash game option, but tonight he is more a tournament play. The reason he is a tournament only play is because of the match up, and the ball park he is at. He is at the Reds, who have been a good offensive team this year, and they are in Cincinnati, which is a great hitters park. Martinez certainly has the strikeout upside, he has seven or more strikeouts in four of his last five starts. So the consistency is there, but just a few bad pitches, and they could easily be home runs. Tournament only or just fade him

Jeff Samardzija - P, @ MIL ($8,900)

Samardzija is another interesting option for tonight. He has 84 SO in 72 IP, which is a great average, and really has some strikeout upside here vs the Brewers who have a 24% strikeout rate vs right-handed pitching. As I mentioned with Martinez, this isn't the best cash game spot, but a great tournament play. Samardzija is at the Brewers, which is a great hitters park, so the risk factor is there. Samarzija shouldn't be highly owned, so if he has a good game, he can set you up for a nice win.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Brian McCann - C, @ KAN ($2,900)

McCann is inline to get the start tonight due to the lefty, righty match up. He normally gets the start when there is a right-handed pitcher on the mound, and Gattis can get some rest. McCann is a cheaper option at catcher, and he brings a bit of upside, along with exposure to the Astros high powered offense. He has a .301 wOBA and a .112 ISO vs right-handed pitching this season.

Ryan Zimmerman - 1B, @ LOS ($4,200)

Zimmerman is on an absolute tear to start this season. He is batting .374 with 16 HR and 48 RBI. The match up for him tonight really couldn't be any better. He has a .526 wOBA and a .459 ISO vs left-handed pitching this season. Absolutely silly numbers after two months into the season, and he is in a great spot, despite this being a bit of a pitchers park.

Dee Gordon - 2B, @ CHC ($3,300)

Gordon is a nice option at second base tonight, and always has good stolen base upside. He has a .335 wOBA and a .371 OBP this season vs right-handed pitching. Really strong numbers, and if he gets on base, he has 18 stolen bases this year. Solid bit of consistency and stolen base upside makes him a good GPP play.

Josh Donaldson - 3B, @ OAK ($4,100)

Donaldson is back from his injury and he has four home runs in his last five games. He is mashing the ball, and has a nice match up in front of him tonight. He has a .318 wOBA and a .364 OBP vs left-handed pitching this season. He is always a threat to go deep, so the consistency plus the upside, make him playable in all formats.

Zack Cozart - SS, vs STL ($3,400)

Cozart continues to preform this season, and after a big weekend, he looks to add onto that. He is batting .344 with 62 hits in 48 games thus far this year. At home in a great hitters park, this is the spot you want to roster him. He has a .408 wOBA and a .226 ISO vs right-handed pitching.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Kyle Schwarber - OF, vs MIA ($2,900)

Schwarber is starting to heat up, and when he gets hot, he is a threat to go deep every night. He seems a bit under priced tonight, and makes him a great stacking option with other Cubs, since you are getting a bit of a discount. He has a .285 wOBA and a .207 ISO versus right-handed pitching this season.

Christian Yelich - OF, @ CHC ($3,700)

Yelich is always a good stacking option from Miami, since they have so many hitters who can go deep. There should be a good amount of wind blowing out toward center tonight, so this is a spot you may want to load up on bats. He has a .335 wOBA and a .129 ISO vs right-handed pitching this season.

George Springer - OF, @ KAN ($4,300)

Springer is having himself a great start to the year, and hasn't put up less than 12 FanDuel points in his last eight games. When a player is hot, you want to get as much exposure to him as you can, and this is no different. This season, he has a .339 wOBA and a .212 ISO vs right-handed pitching.
