Fantasy Basketball Top 50 Player Rankings (Week 13)

Rank Previous Rank Name Team Pos Notes
1 Kevin Durant GSW SF/PF Nothing new here. He's still the most valuable player on the season and also ranked #1 over the past month.
2 Giannis Antetokounmpo MIL PG/SG/SF Same old for the Greek Freak as well. Missed a game and a half with the virus that was going around the league, but he's back to his usual self now and there's nothing to worry about.
4 Kawhi Leonard SAS SG/SF Kawhi has been on fire lately, but playing for Coach Pop will always mean risk of random rest days down the stretch.
3 Anthony Davis NOR PF/C Injury concerns have been popping up lately but he's been able to play through them for the most part.
5 Stephen Curry GSW PG/SG He's ranked top 5 on the season despite a major drop in FG% from last year. Just goes to show how valuable he was last year, but he's unlikely to regain the title of best fantasy player in the league without that high percentage from the field.
6 James Harden HOU PG/SG/SF Turnovers are the bane of his fantasy value this year, as he'd be the #1 option in 8-category leagues.
8 Jimmy Butler CHI SG/SF Another victim of the bug going around, but he's back to full health now.
9 DeMarcus Cousins SAC PF/C Other than his turnover rate, DMC has been top notch as of late. He notched his first triple-double of the season against the Pacers on Wednesday, and with Rudy Gay now out for the season he'll continue to be fed the ball as much as possible.
13 Kyle Lowry TOR PG Lowry's hot shooting has not slowed down through the new year, and he's not up to about 48% from the field on the season. His previous season high was set during the 2008-09 season, where he shot 43.5% for the Rockets and Grizzlies on less than six shot attempts per game.
10 Draymond Green GSW SF/PF Green is now up to three triple-doubles on the season with his 11 point, 13 rebound, 11 assist game against Cleveland on Monday. He's also had at least two blocks in each of his past five games, including five to complement that triple double.
12 John Wall WAS PG Wall has been shooting lights out lately, with at least 50% field goal shooting in 7 of his last 11 games.
19 Isaiah Thomas BOS PG IT has not slowed down, and is now a top 10 player on the season. The lack of steals are the only thing holding him back from Steph Curry value.
16 Russell Westbrook OKC PG Westbrook is now up to 14 on the season in terms of per game value, which might be as high as he can go with the huge negative value he gives in FG% and turnovers. In H2H, only Harden has been more valuable for a punt FG/TO team.
21 Karl-Anthony Towns MIN C Towns has really shined since the new year, as he's a top 15 player in 2017. Things are looking up in a big way for KAT in the second half of the season.
15 LeBron James CLE SF/PF Nothing to see here, other than the predicted improvement in free throw shooting, which is his norm.
17 Paul George IND SF/PF Anyone saying he's having a down season need only look at his rank, which should be among the top 20 in most formats.
36 Nikola Jokic DEN PF/C Since being inserted into the starting lineup, Jokic has been a borderline top 10 player. Mike Malone is starting to stabilize his minutes are 30 per game, and Jokic has been making an effort to keep the fouls to a minimum. The result has been 19.4 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 5.2 assists on a tremendous 63.4% field goal shooting. This 21 year old is a stud for years to come, and a possible top 5 player in dynasty league formats.
14 Kemba Walker CHA PG Not too worried about his minor shooting slump the past couple weeks. The small drop in rank is mostly due to the phenomenal play of the guys passing him.
11 Damian Lillard POR PG Lillard hasn't really looked the same since returning from a five game absence, primarily due to a poor shooting percentage. Now might be a good time to buy low, though I wouldn't expect any higher than about 43.5% from the field the rest of the way.
22 Myles Turner IND PF/C Turner has been fairly consistent all season, and one of the top targets for any team in need of blocks.
18 Al Horford BOS PF/C Horford's in the midst of a rough shooting slump, having shot under 43% from the field over the past month. Now might be a good time to buy low.
24 CJ McCollum POR PG/SG McCollum has been making up for Lillard's slack during his slump, and it's no longer clear who the best fantasy player in Portland is.
25 Otto Porter WAS SF Breakout of the year so far and no signs of regression.
23 Kyrie Irving CLE PG/SG The steals are back but Kyrie has been in a slump since missing three games with the illness it seems everyone had a few weeks ago. Not a bad time to try and buy low.
33 Rudy Gobert UTA C Gobert is a nightmare matchup for opposing big men, and he's averaging a league-leading 2.6 blocks per game.
27 Hassan Whiteside MIA C Whiteside missed four games with an eye injury, but is now back to full health. On punt FT% teams in standard H2H formats, he's a top five player.
29 Marc Gasol MEM C Gasol has only missed two games this season after all the talk early on about being rested on back to backs.
31 Gordon Hayward UTA SG/SF Hayward has been consistently great this season, and is one of the safest players to own in fantasy.
20 Kevin Love CLE PF/C He's in a big time shooting slump and is dealing with a lower back injury. Now might be a good time to send his owner a low-ball offer, but make sure you're able to incur the occasional rest day.
30 Trevor Ariza HOU SG/SF A little light on the steals lately, but he's still returning third round value on the season.
28 Paul Millsap ATL PF/C Same story here, as Millsap's poor FG% is a hinder on his value this season.
34 Mike Conley MEM PG Conley's now a top 30 player on the season, and has started the new year off right.
32 Klay Thompson GSW SG/SF The only difference between Klay's numbers this season and last season is about half a three pointer.
37 DeMar DeRozan TOR SG/SF DeRozan is the fifth best scorer this season on a per game basis, and does enough elsewhere to hover around the top 30.
35 Serge Ibaka ORL PF/C Vucevic's reinsertion into the starting lineup hasn't really affected his production.
45 Jeff Teague IND PG Teague is shooting lights out in the new year, making two thirds of his shots in his past seven games.
38 Brook Lopez BKN C Lopez was rested once again last Sunday, and that trend may pick up the pace towards the end of the season. He likely won't be shut down unless he suffers a big enough injury.
N/A Joel Embiid PHI C About time "The Process" is included in the top 50, and the main reason he's been excluded is how often he's been rested. But the rest days are dwindling and the production has been elite over the past month, as he's a top 25 player since Christmas.
26 Kristaps Porzingis NYK PF/C KP is tough to rank as he's about to undergo an MRI at the time of this writing. How you value him all depends on how risk averse you are, but he has to drop in the rankings until proven healthy.
39 Eric Bledsoe PHO PG/SG Bledsoe continues to be a solid all-around contributor, but isn't elite enough anywhere to be a top 30 player.
41 LaMarcus Aldridge SAS PF/C The occasional rest day continues but he's still reliable when on the court.
N/A Patrick Beverley HOU PG/SG Beverley has been the model of cheap all-around production this year, and is currently my pick for waiver-wire pickup of the year.
44 Zach LaVine MIN PG/SG LaVine is in a slump, but being just 21 years old he's bound to be a bit inconsistent. Hang onto him.
40 Carmelo Anthony NYK SF/PF Melo has shot fairly well to start the new year, shooting over 45% from the field. But his usage is still down with Rose on the court, and he's trending downward. Owners may want to sell high before the Knicks fall out of the playoff race.
46 Jae Crowder BOS SF/PF Crowder is still a top 50 player this season despite fewer steals and a lower usage rate, likely due to IT's heavy usage. Hopefully the steals return in the second half, because we'd then be looking at a borderline top 30 player.
Next 5 Bradley Beal WAS SG Beal's inclusion in the top 50 is likely a mainstay, as his 2.9 three-pointers per game without hurting you in FG% is too good to omit.
50 Jabari Parker MIL SF/PF The only concern with Jabari right now is how Middleton's return might affect him.
48 Victor Oladipo OKC PG/SG Oladipo is definitely having a disappointing year, having been expected to return third round value. However, his steals are slowly returning and so is his ability to knock down free throws, so his stock is on the rise. The only thing lacking from last season is a couple assists, which probably won't return with Westbrook doing all the ball handling.
42 Avery Bradley BOS PG/SG Bradley has been suffering from an achilles injury lately, having missed six of the past nine games.
7 Chris Paul LAC PG This ranking assumes you have IR spots. In H2H formats he'd be a nice buy low assuming you're in good position to make the playoffs.

Next Five:

Nicolas Batum, Gorgui Dieng, Nikola Vucevic, Danilo Gallinari, Blake Griffin
