FanDuel DFS – MLB Lineup Picks, Sleepers & Advice for 9/25/15

Tom Bellucco analyzes some MLB DFS lineup picks & sleepers for 9/25/15 on FanDuel fantasy baseball daily leagues. His DFS advice and value picks help you win on FanDuel.

I was a little hit or miss on yesterday’s picks. But hey, if you’re not playing risky to win one last MLB DFS tournament, then why are you playing? Let’s see if I can do a little better on Friday, September 25th.

Outside of the fantasy world, there’s some amazing baseball cooking in the NL Central. After sweeping the Rockies in Colorado, the Pirates now get to face the Cubs who are hot on their trail. Come Monday, the Pirates get the Cardinals in PNC Park. As of right now the divisional lead is four games, but if the Pirates can dwindle that lead to three by the time Monday rolls around, PNC Park is going to be rocking as if Johnny Cueto is on the bump in a wildcard game.

Inside of the fantasy world, we find a lot of middle-of-the-road pitching on Friday’s slate with one stud who a lot of people still don’t trust. It’s going to be tough deciding which players are worthy of a cash game play. However, with 14 games on the main docket, it should be fun to get unique with hitter combinations if you’re one to submit multiple lineups. Let’s get to it!

Editor's Note: If you play on FanDuel, you should also check out RotoBaller’s DFS Partner DraftKings - they're hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It's FREE to enter and pays out $130,000 in cash prizes!

Offenses to Target for FanDuel DFS (Pitchers to Pick On)

We have a Coors Field game, so you know we’re going to start there. Mike Bolsinger and the Dodgers travel to face David Hale (both righties), and runs should be plentiful in this one. Both Bolsinger and Hale have been inconsistent (although Hale has been passed between reliever and starter duties). Bolsinger’s subpar strikeout rate could cause problems for him here, and it certainly puts the Rockies bats in play. Who knows what you’re going to get from the Dodgers, but the ones with any sort of power (Corey Seager, Joc Pederson, and even Chase Utley) might be worth fliers.

The late night matchup between the D-backs and the Padres seems like another good place to settle on hitting. Rubby De La Rosa has been everything but consistent this year, and Arizona faces a brand new piece of meat in righty Casey Kelly. There are too many righty mashers on that team for this to go well for San Diego. Look to pay up for a couple of the expensive bats in this one if you can.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Target for FanDuel

Jose Fernandez (SP, MIA) - $11,400

Fine. I’ll be the sucker who buys back in this early. I don’t know why the Marlins are still using Fernandez in this season after all of his injury problems, but as long as he’s throwing 95 pitches, striking out 1.5 per inning, and getting cushiony matchups, sign me up. It is a bit risky for a cash game play, but so are the rest of the options. There’s a ton of upside here that helps forget about the gruesome price you have to pay to roster Fernandez.

Noah Syndergaard (SP, NYM) - $10,100 or Carlos Martinez (SP, STL) - $9,600

Both of these players hold the same upsides and downsides in my mind. They have huge strikeout potential against teams that strikeout a lot. However, they both are young and will blow up in your face every once in a while. Not to mention they’re both pitching in hitters’ parks. If I do pick one, it’ll probably be CarMar simply because of the $500 coupon, but I wouldn’t scoff at either one in a tourney lineup.

DFS Infielders to Target for FanDuel

Wilson Ramos (C, WAS) - $2,300

This is just a case of spending down at catcher for a guy who could be entering a hot streak. Ramos has three hits, a double, and a dong in his last two games.

Carlos Santana (1B, CLE) - $3,200

Home runs in back-to-back games, and he’s drawing walks. Hopefully that’s a sign of Santana seeing the ball well right now. A juicy Volquez fastball is all it will take for you to hit value with this pick on Friday.

Cory Spangenberg (2B, SDP) - $3,100

Not only is Spangenberg fast, but he’s a very good hitter as well. It was just three days ago that he launched homers in back-to-back games. If he is in the lineup again today (and he usually sits near the top), this is a fine price for his situation.

David Wright (3B, NYM) - $3,500

For the sake of this article and my sanity, I’ll stop advising to play Todd Frazier. It seems I have cursed him. Instead, go ahead and plug Wright into your lineups. He has an RBI in each of his last four games, and he showed us a few days ago that the power stroke is still in there somewhere. GABP should help him show it off.

Corey Seager (SS, LOS) - $3,900

C’mon! Everyone’s doin it! Seager will likely have a very high ownership percentage, but with good reason. He’s swinging the bat very well right now, and I actually expected the price to be higher. Two homers isn’t out of the question for this kid.

DFS Outfielders to Target for FanDuel

Angel Pagan (OF, SFG) - $2,800

Stick with the hot hand. Pagan hit two more doubles yesterday and stole a bag. He’s back in the leadoff spot for now, so he’s a must-start in my book until he goes cold or goes over 3K.

Stephen Piscotty (OF, STL) - $2,800

Here’s another good, young hitter. After three hits yesterday, Piscotty seems locked in going into this one against the righty Ariel Pena.

Chris Young (OF, NYY) - $2,500

Chris Young against lefties. It’s like death and taxes. He’s sure to be in the lineup, and Carlos Rodon has his vulnerable moments. Young is due for a big game.

Good luck with your FanDuel and DFS lineups RotoBallers!
