PGA DFS: DraftKings Fantasy Golf Sleeper Picks and Advice for the Wyndham Championship

Jason Day finally won his first major championship after so many close calls. He was my first pick last week followed by Justin Rose who finished fourth. I’ve been rolling for three weeks in a row, let’s hope the streak doesn’t end here.

The PGA Tour heads to Greensboro, N.C., to play on the Donald Ross designed Sedgefield Country Club. The course is 7,117 yards long and plays as a par 70 consisting of four Par 3’s, two Par 5’s, 13 water hazards and 48 bunkers. Last year Camilo Villegas won at 17 under with Bill Hass and Freddie Jacobson finishing runner up.

Editor's Note: Our Partner DraftKings is hosting another huge tournament on August 20th. The PGA $400K Drive to the Green is free to enter after first deposit, and it dishes out $100K to the first place finisher!  If you sign up and make a deposit now, you’ll get a 100% bonus on your first DraftKings deposit. We’ll also give you free access to RotoBaller’s Premium 2015 Fantasy Football NFL Draft Kit (a $49.99 value).

PGA DFS Advice - Stats To Look At

- Greens in Regulations
- Strokes Gained: Putting
- Strokes Gained: Tee to Green
- Par 4 Scoring
- Approach Shot Proximity
- Driving Accuracy

PGA DFS High-Priced DraftKings Picks ($9,000-$10,900)

Brooks Koepka ($10,800)
 - Greens in Regulations: 21
- Strokes Gained: Putting: 3
- Strokes Gained: Tee to Green: 29
- Par 4 Scoring: 6
- Proximity To Hole: 89
- Driving Accuracy: 154
 - 2014 Wyndham Result: 25th, 7 under

Koepka is my pick to win this tournament. His stats are very good, and he is coming off a great showing at the PGA where he finished 15th at 13 under.

Paul Casey ($9,200)
 - Greens in Regulations: 5
- Strokes Gained: Putting: 112
- Strokes Gained: Tee to Green: 10
- Par 4 Scoring: 20
- Approach Shot Proximity: 19
- Driving Accuracy: 83
 - 2014 Wyndham Result: 18th, 10 under

I picked Casey at Bridgestone (17th) and the PGA (30th) so why stop now? He’s been playing well, and he now heads to play at a relatively easy course. If he can putt like he did last week at Whistling Straits, then he might really make a push to win.

PGA DFS Mid-Priced DraftKings Picks ($7,000-$8,900)

Will Wilcox ($8,400)

- Greens in Regulations: 4
- Strokes Gained: Putting: 40
- Strokes Gained: Tee to Green: 20
- Par 4 Scoring: 3
- Approach Shot Proximity: 23
- Driving Accuracy: 14
- 2014 Wyndham Result: 24th, 9 under

Looking at these stats got me really excited to pick him this week. His last four tournaments went as follows: John Deere, 8th at 16 under with 107 fantasy points, Barbasol runner up at 16 under with 106 fantasy points, Quicken Loans National 21st, and Barracuda 10th.

There is no reason to think he will play poorly here.

Ollie Schniederjans ($8,300)

His stats are not shown because he’s only played in six events. He has been playing great golf though (12th at U.S. Open, 22nd at Canadian Open, and 15th at the Quicken Loans National). I picked him before and have never been disappointed. He will show up again and play some excellent golf.

Tiger Woods ($8,200)

Woods does not qualify for stat rankings, because he does not play enough. I was correct last week by not picking Woods, as Whistling Straits proved too difficult for him. Woods will be playing this course for the first time, and for some odd reason, I think he will play well this tournament.

Stewart Cink ($7,200)
- Greens in Regulations: 3
- Strokes Gained: Putting: 84
- Strokes Gained: Tee to Green: 78
- Par 4 Scoring: 28
- Approach Shot Proximity: 8
- Driving Accuracy: 161
- 2014 Wyndham Result: DNP

Cink followed up his 20th place finish at the Open Championship with a fifth place finish at the Canadian Open. He was cut in his last tournament at the Quicken Loans National. If Cink can drive the ball and putt adequately this weekend, he will be in contention.

PGA DFS Low-Priced DraftKings Picks ($5,300- $6,900)

J.J. Henry ($6,600)
- Greens in Regulations: 10
- Strokes Gained: Putting: 163
- Strokes Gained: Tee to Green: 111
- Par 4 Scoring: 128
- Approach Shot Proximity: 107
- Driving Accuracy: 116
- 2014 Wyndham Result: 32nd, 8 under

Henry won the Barracuda Championship two weeks ago and last week finished 72nd, but at least he made the cut at a major. Henry will appreciate the easiness of this course after experiencing four days of Whistling Straits.

Jim Herman ($6,100)
- Greens in Regulations: 2
- Strokes Gained: Putting: 139
- Strokes Gained: Tee to Green: 77
- Par 4 Scoring: 4
- Approach Shot Proximity: 13
- Driving Accuracy: 36
- 2014 Wyndham Result: Cut

Herman will play much better this time than he did last year. He finished 22nd at the Canadian Open and 30th at the Quicken Loans National. He has had adequate rest since he last played at the Quicken Loans National, and his GIR will certainly help.
