Jordan Spieth Lacking in Too Many Areas to be Trusted at John Deere Classic
Returning to the site of his first PGA Tour victory, Jordan Speith is hoping the stroll down memory lane will help him get back on track this season. He's finished outside the top 50 with one missed cut in his last three starts and has failed to gain any meaningful strokes across the board. The 32-year-old is still masterful with a wedge, but that isn't enough to carry him through 72 holes. This isn't the same player who won this event in two of three years from 2013 to 2015. The putts don't fall like they used to, and his ball striking is much more unpredictable. As tempting as it may be to hope for him to drum up some old magic at TPC Deere Run, avoiding him may be the smartest strategy this week.
