Jordan Spieth Searching For Anything to Get Through The Week at Shinnecock
It has been a dreadfully boring year for Jordan Spieth, who is coming off a missed cut at the Memorial Tournament, having lost over three strokes on approach in the first two rounds. Every part of his game has performed well in various spots, but nothing has come together all at once. The best thing going for him currently is the driver, as the former Texas Longhorn has averaged 0.850 strokes gained off the tee over his last five starts. However, approach play is presumably the leading factor this week, where Spieth isn't nearly as proficient. It also makes it even more detrimental, since most of his struggles come from beyond 150 yards. Combine that with a short game that's been hard to rely on week to week, and the 32-year-old finds himself sliding down the list of potential DFS plays rather quickly. He likely doesn't have a high enough ceiling to recommend much consideration.
