Memphis Grizzlies guard/forward Cedric Coward (knee) won't play against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night. He is managing a right knee injury and has been ruled out after initially carrying a doubtful tag on the injury report. Memphis will start a back-to-back on Thursday, so there's a good chance Coward will return to the lineup on Friday against the Detroit Pistons. His absence against Dallas creates more playing opportunities for Jahmai Mashack and Rayan Rupert. The latter has put in solid work recently, averaging 13.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.2 steals in March.--Taavi Pailk
