Ottawa Senators center Shane Pinto signed a four-year, $30 million extension with the team on Thursday. He celebrated his new contract by scoring his ninth goal of the season in a 5-3 victory over the Boston Bruins. Across 18 outings, Pinto has also tallied six assists, marking a major improvement from his usual production. Before this season, Pinto had averaged around 0.5 points per game for his NHL career. Currently, he's on pace for a 60-point campaign. The scoring level seems unsustainable, but the Senators have a top-five offense in the league, and many players, including Pinto, are benefiting from it.--Taavi Pailk
