Brock Purdy Questionable to Play, but Won't Start in Week 9
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Mac Jones will make another start on Sunday in Week 9 versus the New York Giants, but Brock Purdy (toe) could be available to play, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. Purdy is officially listed as questionable. The 49ers are not comfortable starting Purdy under center since he has yet to practice in full since aggravating his turf-toe injury in the Week 4 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, the 25-year-old has made enough progress that he could actually be active this weekend as an emergency option. It's a good sign that Purdy will be ready to start again in Week 10 against the division-rival Los Angeles Rams, barring a setback during practice next week. Jones has done a commendable job running San Fran's offense this year with Purdy injured, but there's no debate that Purdy will take over the starting job again when he's cleared to start. Jones will only be worth streaming in two-QB superflex leagues against the G-Men this weekend.
