Quincy's NFL QB power rankings for Week 1 of the 2025 season. He ranks all 32 starting NFL quarterbacks before Week 1, from Josh Allen to Spencer Rattler.
The NFL regular season has arrived, and every starting quarterback across the league is set. We can finally stop projecting quarterback battles and jump into the ever-evolving power rankings. This season, there are no Week 1 quarterbacks who feel flat-out terrible. Everyone has somewhat of a shot to succeed, which is rare in a league that is so difficult for quarterbacks to succeed in.
Barring an extenuating circumstance, players such as Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes will live atop these rankings throughout the season. However, the real interest will be in the middle and towards the bottom of this list. Players near the bottom are at risk of losing their jobs at some point during the season. Players hovering around the middle could rise up this list if they take a step forward. The NFL is very fun to watch because of all the excitement that surrounds this position.
Power rankings provide us with the ability to put the finger on the pulse of quarterbacks trending up and down. Many questions will be answered once the NFL blows the first whistle. Without further ado, let's dive in and see where each quarterback ranks in the power rankings as we head into the regular season.

No. 32: Spencer Rattler - New Orleans Saints
Spencer Rattler won the Saints' quarterback battle after a months-long battle with rookie Tyler Shough. Rattler has a chance to show the Saints and other NFL teams that he has what it takes to hang around the big leagues. The Saints do not have a lot of solid players around Rattler, so the road will be tough.
No. 31: Cameron Ward - Tennessee Titans
Cameron Ward has impressed throughout the summer and preseason. He has earned respect within the Titans' locker room, and he has developed solid chemistry with his pass catchers. We have seen solid rookie seasons from surprise quarterbacks in recent years. Ward could continue that trend, and he may not be low on this list for long.

No. 30: Daniel Jones - Indianapolis Colts
Daniel Jones becomes the latest veteran quarterback to attempt to resurrect his career in a new destination. The Colts felt that Jones gave the team the best opportunity to compete right now, especially in a winnable division. We know what Jones has been for his whole career, but could this change of scenery help?
No. 29: Joe Flacco - Cleveland Browns
The Browns handed over the quarterback reins to Joe Flacco, at least to start the season. Flacco is in the twilight of his career at age 40. Even so, he can still sling the ball around. With two rookies backing him up, Flacco will likely see the field for several weeks. However, if the Browns begin to struggle, Browns fans will begin clamoring for Shedeur Sanders.
No. 28: Justin Fields - New York Jets
Justin Fields is on his last chance to prove he can be an NFL starter. The Jets' preseason was inauspicious for the offense, which does not bode well for Fields. He is an electrifying prospect, but he needs to find a way to put all the pieces together to succeed.
No. 27: Russell Wilson - New York Giants
Russell Wilson and the Giants will run a brutal schedule gauntlet to open the regular season, but if they can weather the storm, Wilson has a chance to play solid ball in this offense. The Giants' defense should be great, and wide receiver Malik Nabers can make any quarterback close to average look solid.
No. 26: Drake Maye - New England Patriots
Drake Maye is the favorite for a huge breakout in 2025. He already flashed excellent ability in 2024, and he will play for a stable regime with upgraded weapons in 2025. Look for Maye to begin the season with a bang in Week 1 against the Raiders.

No. 25: Aaron Rodgers - Pittsburgh Steelers
Reports on Aaron Rodgers out of Steelers camp have been very positive this summer. He sounds bought into what the team would like to do. If he can even give them average quarterback play, the Steelers could make some noise this season.
No. 24: Trevor Lawrence - Jacksonville Jaguars
Trevor Lawrence could get the Liam Coen treatment in 2025. Coen helped Baker Mayfield achieve a massive season in 2024 with the Buccaneers. Lawrence is entering Year 5 in the league, and he has yet to consistently prove that he is a No. 1 overall pick in the league. This is a huge turning point for the young signal-caller.
No. 23: Michael Penix Jr. - Atlanta Falcons
Michael Penix Jr. has a chance to take the league by storm in 2025. He is a great prospect with a stable of weapons around him. The Falcons should be much improved as well, and there could be fireworks if Penix is a hit.
No. 22: Caleb Williams - Chicago Bears
Caleb Williams had an inconsistent preseason, but he displayed improvements across the board. Expectations for this kid could not be higher with the new head coach, Ben Johnson, coming to town. Still, NFL fans should be patient with the talented quarterback.
No. 21: J.J. McCarthy - Minnesota Vikings
J.J. McCarthy has the utmost confidence in his team as he heads into his first season as the starter in Minnesota. McCarthy is an exciting prospect who enjoyed a solid college career at Michigan. Head coach Kevin O'Connell's quarterback-friendly offense should suit McCarthy well this year.

No. 20: Bryce Young - Carolina Panthers
Bryce Young is entering a pivotal Year 3 after beginning to realize his potential towards the end of the 2024 season. With a new weapon in Tetairoa McMillan in place, Young has a chance to truly turn into a star. The NFL is an unforgiving place, but Young has done well to change the narrative surrounding him.
No. 19: Geno Smith - Las Vegas Raiders
Geno Smith is back with Pete Carroll after the timeless head coach took a year off from football. Smith is joining an offense in Las Vegas that could use a lot of help. He will help to stabilize the team, but he is certainly not the long-term answer at the position.
No. 18: Kyler Murray - Arizona Cardinals
Kyler Murray needs to buckle down and consistently display that he is an elite quarterback. The Cardinals have done well in giving Murray a solid offensive line, a running game, and weapons. By all accounts, Murray's connection with wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is improving. If those two can click, this offense could be unstoppable.
No. 17: Sam Darnold - Seattle Seahawks
Sam Darnold is well-positioned to succeed in Seattle this season. The Seahawks have revamped their entire offense and brought in Klint Kubiak as their coordinator. Kubiak's system plays to Darnold's strengths, which allowed him to thrive in Minnesota in 2024.

No. 16: C.J. Stroud - Houston Texans
C.J. Stroud is looking to bounce back after a tough 2024 season. The offensive line is still a huge question mark, but the wide receiving corps should improve as the season progresses. The Texans are in a weaker division that should allow them to make some noise. Stroud and Co. have found a way to win a playoff game in each of the last two seasons.
No. 15: Dak Prescott - Dallas Cowboys
Dak Prescott and the Cowboys' offense are going to have to carry the team this season in the absence of the recently traded edge rusher Micah Parsons. If Prescott is healthy, he should have a ballistic season. This team is an enigma, but it will go as far as its quarterback can take them.
No. 14: Tua Tagovailoa - Miami Dolphins
Tua Tagovailoa's No. 1 goal for 2025 should be to stay healthy. Tagovailoa has played excellent football when he has been on the field. The Dolphins' offense is nearly unstoppable with Tagovailoa behind center. The entire NFL community is hoping that Tagovailoa has put the concussions behind him.
No. 13: Brock Purdy - San Francisco 49ers
Brock Purdy is entering Week 1 with a lack of weapons at his disposal. Wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings remain sidelined at the moment. Purdy can shut a lot of doubters down by playing excellent football in the absence of some of his weapons to start the season. Seattle's defense will be a tough first test.

No. 12: Bo Nix - Denver Broncos
Bo Nix is poised for a monster season after a great rookie year. It took Nix a handful of weeks to figure things out in 2024, so he should be able to hit the ground running this year. Head coach Sean Payton has a knack for getting the most out of his quarterbacks. Nix should fare no differently.
No. 11: Baker Mayfield - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Mayfield seems to love his new weapon in rookie wideout Emeka Egbuka. With several players down to injury as we enter the season, Mayfield will have as much on his shoulders as ever in Tampa Bay. After the showing Mayfield displayed in 2024, it is time that we believe he can shoulder anything.
No. 10: Jordan Love - Green Bay Packers
Jordan Love is ready to throw passes to a first-round wide receiver in Matthew Golden. That is not something you hear of every day in Green Bay. Love could be poised for a monster year on a Packers team that is suddenly a true Super Bowl contender following the trade for edge rusher Micah Parsons. As such, Love is certainly trending up.
No. 9: Matthew Stafford - Los Angeles Rams
Matthew Stafford seems to be entering the 2025 season as healthy as he can be. His back issues remain a concern, but the Rams are managing him. Stafford himself is one of the toughest players in the league. With Stafford at the helm, the Rams are true Super Bowl contenders.
No. 8: Justin Herbert - Los Angeles Chargers
Justin Herbert is entering Year 2 in the Jim Harbaugh/Greg Roman system. Herbert began to play lights-out football at the end of the 2024 season. With his old buddy Keenan Allen back in town, hopefully Herbert can continue to ascend and reach the heights we have seen him achieve in the past.

No. 7: Jared Goff - Detroit Lions
Jared Goff and the Lions' offense are entering a year with turnover along the offensive line and in the coaching staff. However, talent remains everywhere. Goff and his weapons are enough on their own to propel the Lions' offense to greatness. If everything else falls back into place, the Lions will be right back in the mix.
No. 6: Jayden Daniels - Washington Commanders
The Commanders finally got a deal done with Jayden Daniels' favorite target, Terry McLaurin. With the whole band back together and some new faces such as Deebo Samuel Sr., the Commanders are well-positioned to pick up where they left off in 2024. Daniels and co. were so good in 2024 that it is unclear how much room there is for further ascension for this squad.
No. 5: Jalen Hurts - Philadelphia Eagles
Jalen Hurts at No. 5 may seem blasphemous to some and fitting to others. He is a divisive quarterback, but he simply gets the job done. Hurts is not flashy or showy, but he can go out and command an Eagles victory if necessary. He is equally adept at taking a backseat to running back Saquon Barkley if the game plan calls for it.
No. 4: Patrick Mahomes - Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes will be without top target Rashee Rice for the first six weeks of the season. That is a bummer, but news out of Chiefs camp suggests that the offensive line is greatly improved. If this line can hold up, Mahomes should have no problem spreading the ball around to Marquise Brown, Xavier Worthy, and Travis Kelce.
No. 3: Joe Burrow - Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow had a magical season in 2024. One that may not even be repeatable. Still, Burrow is perhaps the best pure passer in the game. He will need to continue playing at a high level to keep up in games if the Bengals' defense is not significantly improved this season.
No. 2: Lamar Jackson - Baltimore Ravens
Lamar Jackson played the most consistent football of his career in 2024. With many of the same faces back in town this year, Jackson has a great chance to repeat that level of play. The Ravens have been on the cusp of playoff greatness for several years now. Perhaps this will be the season everything finally breaks free for this team.
No. 1: Josh Allen - Buffalo Bills
The Bills like what they have developed on offense with Josh Allen. He is entering the era of his career where he does what is necessary to win. Sometimes that means Allen carries the team. Other times, Allen will spend the day handing the ball off. Either way, the reigning MVP has learned how to play the position as well as anyone in the league.
