Emmet Sheehan's Spot in the Rotation Being Skipped

Sonja Chen of MLB.com reported on Saturday that due to the off days last Thursday and this Monday, Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Emmet Sheehan is being skipped this turn through the rotation, per manager Dave Roberts. That lines up Clayton Kershaw on Tuesday and Shohei Ohtani on Wednesday. Ohtani is expected to be the designated hitter on Thursday. With the Dodgers' pitching staff finally getting healthy, Sheehan appears to be the "odd-man out" or the one that Roberts wants not to overwork, as Sheehan is coming off Tommy John surgery in 2024. Sheehan will likely return to the mound against the Baltimore Orioles this weekend, but at this time, it's still not certain. Regardless, this is unfortunate news for Sheehan's fantasy managers, as the fantasy playoffs are underway and his turn in the rotation is being skipped. Sheehan has been solid as a starting pitcher for the Dodgers with a 3.56 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in 48 innings pitched.
