Taylor Walls Lands on the 10-Day Injured List

The Tampa Bay Rays announced on Tuesday that they have placed infielder Taylor Walls (groin) on the 10-day injured list and recalled outfielder Tristan Peters from Triple-A Durham, Rays Communications reports. Walls had been day-to-day since injuring his groin last Friday, August 8, against the Seattle Mariners. Walls is a strong defensive player; however, he has struggled at the plate this season, slashing .220/.280/.319 with 36 runs scored, four home runs, 38 RBI, and four stolen bases. Additionally, his career slash line in his five MLB seasons is .195/.286/.298. Although this is tough news for the Rays team and their fans, Walls is not a recommended option in fantasy baseball and should remain on the waiver wire.
