Aaron Nola's Ankle Injury is Behind Him
Aaron Nola's (ribs) ankle sprain is behind him and he is now focused on his rib injury. Nola initially landed on the 15-day injured list with a right-ankle sprain, but now he's primarily focused on rehabbing a stress reaction in his right rib cage. The 32-year-old veteran could be sidelined for another week, which means he probably is going to have a tough time rejoining Philly's starting rotation before the mid-July All-Star break. Nola has gone 1-7 with a rough 6.16 ERA (5.00 FIP) and 1.51 WHIP with 52 strikeouts and 16 walks in 49 2/3 innings over his first nine starts in 2025, but he could easily turn things around for fantasy managers in the second half with better health. With Nola sidelined, rookie Mick Abel will get more run as a starter in the bigs after impressing in his first four starts.
