Walker Jenkins Hits First Long Ball of Season
Walker Jenkins (ankle) went 2-for-5 with a home run during his contest against Double-A Palm Beach on Friday evening. Jenkins recently began his rehab assignment after dealing with an ankle injury for nearly two months. The top prospect in the Minnesota system began his rehab assignment with the Florida Complex League before moving up to Low-A. He joined Low-A Fort Myers on Thursday and launched a long ball in his second game at the level on Friday. Before suffering the injury, Jenkins made two starts with Double-A, where he went 1-for-8 with two strikeouts. When the 20-year-old is cleared to return, he will likely be sent to Double-A. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the No. 6-ranked prospect in the sport as he should reach Triple-A by the second half of the season.
