Mark Vientos Getting A Breather In Game 1 Of Doubleheader
Mark Vientos is not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of a doubleheader on Sunday at Busch Stadium against the hosting St. Louis Cardinals. Luisangel Acuna will start in his place at third base and bat eighth versus Cardinals right-hander Erick Fedde. Despite the team's not playing on Saturday after the contest was postponed, Vientos will take a seat for the first game of the twin bill after starting each of the team's last 10 games. The 25-year-old is hitting just over .200 for the season with four home runs, 15 RBI and 15 runs scored, but he has picked things up of late, going 11-for-41 (.268) with two home runs, a double, triple, nine RBI and eight runs scored in his last 10 games since April 22. Acuna lacks much DFS upside near the bottom of the Mets' lineup on Sunday and he hasn't homered yet in 2025, but he's hitting a strong .289 (22-for-76) with four RBI, 13 runs and seven stolen bases.
