NFL Power Rankings: Where Do All 32 Teams Stand Pre-NFL Draft?

The NFL has been quiet over the last month. Small moves for role players have occurred since the end of free agency but the big splash moves are well behind us. Most of the news of late has been information concerning the NFL Draft which is only a few days away.

The NFL Draft can turn teams around. Just look at where the Houston Texans and Washington Commanders were prior to drafting C.J. Stroud and Jayden Daniels respectively. Draft night can bring back serious hope to fan bases when all hope feels lost. The news leading up to the draft can give us fans a sneak peek into what teams may decide to do.

The Tennessee Titans are on the clock and seem poised to draft quarterback Cameron Ward. From there, teams will need to navigate a draft class loaded with talent in the trenches and at running back. Quarterback will not be the headliner this year but the draft is nowhere near devoid of talent. Let's see where each team stands with the draft around the corner.

No. 32: Cleveland Browns

The Browns will enter the NFL Draft with the No. 2 overall pick and many options across the board. Re-signing defensive end Myles Garrett was a massive move for the franchise, but their offense is still lacking talent, and their defense is starting to age. The Browns will need to nail this draft to avoid circling the drain again for the next several years.

No. 31: New Orleans Saints

The Saints' offseason has been one of more restructures but they have added uncertainty at quarterback to their list of issues. Derek Carr's season is in flux with a shoulder injury. The Saints are certainly in the running to select a quarterback on Day 1 of the NFL Draft but they still have many other holes to fill as well.

No. 30: Tennessee Titans

With Cameron Ward all but guaranteed to land in the Music City, Tennessee can look towards the future with their potential franchise quarterback. This is a team that made solid moves throughout free agency and plays in a weak division. Do not be surprised if the Titans continue to rise on this list throughout the offseason and once games start.

No. 29: Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars have had a relatively underwhelming offseason. They shipped out a few offensive weapons and did not add much talent to their roster. With the No. 5 pick in the draft and a quarterback already in place, they will have options. One can only hope that they do not waste this high pick as they have wasted so many others throughout their history.

No. 28: New England Patriots

The Patriots are sitting at No. 4 in the NFL Draft. With many options likely at their disposal, this young team should only continue to get better. With the stability of Mike Vrabel as head coach, this team should start to see success once again sooner rather than later.

No. 27: New York Giants

The Giants find themselves moving a couple of spots up after making a couple of solid signings at quarterback. Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson are not world beaters but they will stabilize the position until the Giants can figure it out. Wilson is the presumed starter and he is still playing solid football. The Giants do not need him to be elite, just competent.

No. 26: Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders have been heavily linked to running back Ashton Jeanty at pick No. 6 in the NFL Draft. While Jeanty is an excellent talent, we have seen time and again running backs selected by bad teams in the top 10 not reach their pinnacle until they move on to better teams. If the Raiders make a move like that, they will surely fall in the power rankings post-draft.

No. 25: New York Jets

The New York Jets were caught in the wind this week as quarterback Aaron Rodgers claimed they mishandled his exit. Still, the Jets have made solid moves throughout the offseason including the signing of quarterback Justin Fields. Hopefully, the new coaching regime can stabilize this team and return the Jets to the playoffs.

No. 24: Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers find themselves back in exciting times. With quarterback Bryce Young potentially ready to assume the title of franchise quarterback, the Panthers can focus on other needs in the draft. Look for them to grab a wide receiver or defender in the first round of the NFL Draft.

No. 23: Indianapolis Colts

With quarterbacks Daniel Jones and Anthony Richardson on course for a positional battle this offseason, the Colts will have work to do to ensure that either quarterback is able to succeed. The offensive line needs to be addressed and the defense is average. This is a make or break season for head coach Shane Steichen but he may not have the pieces to make things work.

No. 22: Chicago Bears

The Bears had an excellent free agency period. They shored up their offensive line and continued to add auxiliary pieces on both sides of the ball. With the 10th pick in the draft, the Bears can go anywhere. They are a great landing spot for a certain Ashton Jeanty.

No. 21: Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons are in a strong position to make a huge jump as a team in 2025. Second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr. flashed signs of excellence down the stretch of the 2024 season. He nearly led the Falcons to the playoffs. Look for the team to add a few defensive pieces in the draft and be ready to compete in 2025.

No. 20: Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals should be a good team. With quarterback Kyler Murray and weapons such as Marvin Harrison Jr. and Trey McBride, the offense should be elite. Still, they find themselves in mediocrity. The good news is that the team seems bought in to head coach Jonathan Gannon which bodes well for Gannon's specialty on the defensive side of the ball.

No. 19: Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers continue to wait on a decision from quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Recent comments from Rodgers suggest that retirement may be more of a legitimate consideration than was previously thought. Without Rodgers, the Steelers do not have much direction. They have been unable to find a long term option at quarterback and their defense is not getting any younger.

No. 18: Dallas Cowboys

Does adding running backs Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders move the needle for the Cowboys this season? It is unlikely so it is hard to see this team making noise in what has quickly become a tough NFC East with the Eagles and Commanders.

No. 17: Houston Texans

The Texans have not done anything to replace their porous offensive line from 2024. They seem likely to do so in the draft but they will have their work cut out for them. Compound that with reports that the team plans to address the receiver position in the draft and it is likely that the team will have multiple offensive holes in 2025.

No. 16: Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks have revamped their offense this offseason and only leave the offensive line with glaring needs heading into the draft. It would behoove them to address the interior of the line on Day 1 but with five picks in the first three rounds, the Seahawks have a chance to take a huge step forward in 2025.

No. 15: San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers have lost several key pieces throughout this offseason. Those pieces are headlined by wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. The 49ers are engaged in contract talks with quarterback Brock Purdy which is going to hurt their contract flexibility over the next few years. It feels like their championship window is closing if not already closed.

No. 14: Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins seem to have smoothed things over with wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Now they appear to be at a crossroads with cornerback Jalen Ramsey. The Dolphins still have plenty of talent on their team but with a $50 million quarterback on the roster, the championship window is looking bleak.

No. 13: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers are running everything back with largely the same team in 2025. They had serious success in 2024 behind Baker Mayfield's career year but it was still not enough to make a deep playoff run. Adding a few pieces in the draft will help but the Falcons are coming within the division.

No. 12: Denver Broncos

The Broncos appear ready to have a solid draft this week. With their franchise quarterback in place in the form of Bo Nix, this team can focus on building around him while he is on his rookie deal. Positions of importance include running back and wide receiver.

No. 11: Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers should take a large step forward in Year 2 of the Jim Harbaugh era. They are likely to address the wide receiver position in the draft and they could use a couple of pieces on defense. Doing so may make them legitimate contenders with the Chiefs in the AFC West.

No. 10: Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals and pass rusher Trey Hendrickson are still at a stalemate in contract talks. Hendrickson wants a lot more money than what the Bengals are offering and deservedly so. With so much money tied up between quarterback and wide receiver, the Bengals do not have a lot of room to make other moves. Time will tell if this team can succeed with a lack of support outside of their offensive skill positions.

No. 9: Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers continue to have a glaring need at wide receiver and no simple path to upgrading the position. However, this is a very well coached team with many solid pieces in place and a franchise quarterback. Teams like the Packers can easily take the next step after the NFL Draft.

No. 8: Los Angeles Rams

As long as the Rams have quarterback Matthew Stafford and head coach Sean McVay, this team can compete with anyone. The Rams have a great chance to take the NFC West once again after they were a couple plays away from an NFC Championship berth in 2024.

No. 7: Minnesota Vikings

Quarterback J.J. McCarthy appears to have all the support of the Vikings as the team heads into the 2025 season. This organization has drafted exceptionally well in recent years and that seems unlikely to change this season. The Vikings will legitimately challenge the Lions for the NFC North title in 2025 if McCarthy comes along as expected.

No. 6: Washington Commanders

The best way to give an elite quarterback a chance to enter the next stratosphere is to give them a great left tackle. The Commanders did just that by trading for Laremy Tunsil from the Houston Texans. That move in conjunction with several other moves throughout the offseason suggests that the Commanders will be an elite team in 2025.

No. 5: Detroit Lions

The Lions have built their contender through the draft over the last four years. Which much of the personnel decision making brass still in place, this team should continue to enjoy draft success. Although they lost several coaches to promotions throughout the league, the team is still loaded with talent and that is only likely to improve this coming week.

No. 4: Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens have not done anything special this offseason, but re-signing offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley was a huge move. With many of the same pieces from 2024 returning in 2025, the Ravens should have no trouble making another playoff run. However, they will need to exorcise their demons in order to make it to the Super Bowl.

No. 3: Buffalo Bills

The Bills recently brought back cornerback Tre'Davious White in a move that plugs a substantial hole for the team. They can now look forward to the draft and continue adding to their defense and offensive weaponry.

No. 2: Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs cannot be counted out until they prove otherwise. As the runners up in the Super Bowl, they deserve to be No. 2 on this list. They have made several underrated moves this offseason including signing offensive tackle Jaylon Moore. With the best quarterback on the planet and the best coach in the game, the Chiefs could realistically make an unprecedented fourth-straight Super Bowl.

No. 1: Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles will enter the 2025 NFL Draft with the best roster and the best roster-builder in the NFL. That suggests that they will exit the draft with the best roster and a chance to repeat as Super Bowl champions.
