COTA NASCAR Practice Speeds, Lap Averages, and Notes

Shane Van Gisbergen - NASCAR DFS Picks, Betting Picks, Daily Fantasy NASCAR

NASCAR Practice Speeds, Notes, and Lap Averages. Use these NASCAR stats and info to build lineups on DraftKings for the the 2025 EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas (COTA).

The NASCAR Cup Series ran two practice sessions at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) on Saturday morning/afternoon in preparation for the upcoming EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon.

The 37-car field was split into two groups for this practice session.

Below you will find the two practice groups, key notes from the practice session, and the practice speeds for all drivers.

Important Practice Notes

Connor Zilisch - Zilisch is making his NASCAR Cup Series debut this weekend. He ran in the Xfinity Series last year and collected a win at Watkins Glen, along with a couple of top-5 finishes at Kansas and Phoenix. He is driving the No. 87 Chevrolet for Trackhouse this weekend.

Shane van Gisbergen - SVG was fast, as expected, during the practice sessions. He had the fastest lap in both sessions by a good margin. He was the favorite to win this weekend's race heading into Saturday by sportsbooks.

Tire Falloff - Goodyear brought a brand new tire to the track this weekend that was intended to increase tire falloff times over a run. It definitely appears like they have accomplished that, as lap times fell off a good amount over the course of the short-ish runs during practice.
