Wild Card Round Outlooks For Fantasy Football Playoffs

Nico Collins, Houston Texans - Fantasy Football Outlook

The good news for Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins is that he has an almost unmatched target share with his team set to take on the Los Angeles Chargers in a Wild Card playoff game on Saturday. The bad news is that Houston's offense has been consistently below average for more than a month, averaging just 15.6 points in its past five games.

Further, the Chargers rank third against PPR wide receivers and have held opposing offenses to the fourth-lowest scoring percentage in the NFL. While the matchup isn't ideal, the Michigan Man still hit 1,000 receiving yards despite missing five games and most of another, putting him in rare territory. Though Vegas is predicting a low-scoring game, Collins still can be considered a mid-tier WR1 for managers in playoff formats.

- Nick Piotrowicz, RotoBaller

DeVonta Smith, Philadelphia Eagles - Fantasy Football Outlook

According to the team, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith (back) is off the injury report and does not have a designation for Sunday's playoff game against the Green Bay Packers. Smith popped up on the injury report on Friday with a back injury, but his absence from the final injury report suggests that his sitting out of practice was more rest-related. The former first-round pick enjoyed a fantastic finish to the season after struggling to find consistency early on.

Over his final four games, Smith tallied four touchdowns, averaging 79.3 yards per game. During this span, he saw 8.3 targets per game and posted a strong 11.7 yards per catch. This was a nice increase compared to the 57.3 yards he averaged during the first nine games of the season. Smith should be viewed as a high-upside WR2 in DFS competitions this weekend despite facing a tough Green Bay secondary that has allowed the sixth-fewest PPR points to opposing wideouts.
