Rome Odunze fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 9 (2024). Should you start or sit Rome Odunze for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 14+ Team PPR Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR4
ANALYSIS: The problem isn't Chicago Bears wide receiver Rome Odunze; the problem is quarterback Caleb Williams. Odunze has not looked bad on tape and is doing a fine job getting open (at least against some of the league's softer secondaries), but Williams has struggled. When a quarterback throws for just 131 yards in a game, it's hard for the receivers to succeed.

He still has a ton of competition for targets on a team that's not very productive through the air. Williams averages 206 passing yards per game but tends to have games with low passing yard totals of 93, 174, 157, and 131. It's not possible for WRs D.J. Moore, Keenan Allen, Odunze, tight end Cole Kmet, and running back D'Andre Swift to all have viable receiving totals each game.
The Arizona Cardinals, who the Bears face in Week 9, have a poor pass defense that should allow at least one or two of the receivers to have a fantasy-relevant day, and Odunze and Moore appear to be the best the team has just under halfway through the season. So No. 15 is a fine start in deeper PPR leagues.
