John Metchie III fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 9 (2024). Should you start or sit John Metchie III for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Sit in All Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR6
ANALYSIS: John Metchie III is worth stashing in fantasy football, but he should not be in your starting lineup this week. With Stefon Diggs out for the season and Nico Collins on injured reserve, the Texans will rely heavily on Tank Dell, who looks to be the temporary WR1.
While Metchie is readily available on waivers, he is not a recommended start against the New York Jets in Week 9. The Jets are conceding the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts.

The Texans have had a solid passing offense, led by quarterback C.J. Stroud, contributing to their impressive 6-2 start.
Metchie has seen an increase in snaps since Collins went down and finished Week 8 with three catches for 29 yards, including a key first down in the fourth quarter. However, he is still working to carve out a consistent role, with Robert Woods and Xavier Hutchinson also in the mix for targets.
Given his potential and past as a second-round draft pick, Metchie could emerge as a viable WR3 once Collins returns. Hold onto him for future weeks, but avoid starting him in Week 9.
