Fantasy Football WR Injury Reports: Week 7 Updates For Diontae Johnson, Marvin Harrison Jr., Cooper Kupp, Mike Evans, more

Diontae Johnson - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Fantasy football WR injury updates and reports for Week 7 (2024), as of 10/19. Includes updates on Mike Evans, Marvin Harrison Jr., Diontae Johnson, Cooper Kupp, and more.

As we approach the midway mark of the (regular) fantasy football season, injuries continue to take a toll on rosters. A new batch of injuries to wide receivers could push a starter to the bench.

Let's look at the updates for some wide receivers and see whether they may play in Week 7.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Mike Evans (TB) Injury Update

Game Status: TBD

Mike Evans opened the week with two straight DNPs. He's dealing with a hamstring strain but has been working with trainers during practices.

He could still play Monday night and fantasy managers won't get an official designation until Saturday. Don't be surprised if he carries a questionable tag into the new week.

Marvin Harrison Jr. / Michael Wilson (ARI) Injury Update

Game Status: TBD

Marvin Harrison Jr. suffered a concussion against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. He stood up, stumbled, and fell back down onto the grass. Surprisingly, he practiced in full on Friday. He'll still need an independent neurologist to clear him before he can play on Monday. Fantasy managers hope to have a definitive answer before Sunday games kick-off.

The Cardinals have one more official practice on Saturday because they play on Monday. Number two receiver Michael Wilson is also on the injury report with an ankle injury. He was limited on Thursday and Friday.

Jauan Jennings / Ricky Pearsall (SF) Injury Update

Game Status: OUT / No injury designation

San Francisco's number three wide receiver, Jauan Jennings, won't play in the Super Bowl rematch against Kansas City on Sunday. He hasn't practiced due to a hip injury. However, the 49ers have his replacement getting healthy at the right time. Rookie first-round pick Ricky Pearsall is being activated and will make his NFL debut.

Pearsall will be fourth, at best, in the target pecking order. Brock Purdy's primary weapons will be Deebo Samuel Sr., Brandon Aiyuk, and George Kittle.

Diontae Johnson (CAR) Injury Update

Game Status: Questionable

"Everything hurts!" - Diontae Johnson (probably)

The Panthers' leading receiver is listed on the injury report with not one, not two, but three injuries. The ankle problem has been present for the last couple of weeks. Hamstring and rib issues are new.

Head coach Dave Canales said Johnson’s rib tightened up during practice on Friday, his first participation of the week. It was a non-contact injury. Check back on Johnson's status on Sunday morning. If he's active, he's a must-start against a leaky Washington secondary.

Cooper Kupp / Jordan Whittington (LAR) Injury Update

Game Status: Questionable

Cooper Kupp could return to the lineup this week. The Rams star wide receiver hasn't played since Week 2 because of an ankle injury. He was limited in practice all week.

Jordan Whittington was also limited with a shoulder injury. Whittington moves into the flex conversation if he's active and Kupp is not. Otherwise, Kupp and Kyren Williams are the only locked-in fantasy football starters for the Rams.

Ladd McConkey / Quentin Johnston / DJ Chark (LAC) Injury Update

Game Status: Questionable

The Chargers' wide receiver room is in flux. Joshua Palmer is healthy. Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston, and DJ Chark are all managing injuries.

Chark hasn't played yet this season. His practice window to return from injured reserve opened on Wednesday. He's limited with a groin issue. McConkey is also limited because of a hip injury.

Johnston is not practicing due to an ankle problem. He got hurt on Sunday and returned to the game. As seen several times this season, ankle injuries can become more problematic after the game ends.

The Chargers play Monday night, so official designations for these receivers will come on Saturday.

Jakobi Meyers (LV) Injury Update

Game Status: Doubtful

Jakobi Meyers sat out of the Raiders' Week 6 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers with an ankle injury. He was downgraded entering the weekend, despite practicing in a limited fashion on Friday. He's trending toward missing a second game.

Tre Tucker served as the WR1 last week and registered zero catches. The matchup against the Rams is easier than the Steelers, but Brock Bowers is the only Raider worth starting in fantasy football this week.

Michael Pittman Jr. / Josh Downs (IND) Injury Update

Game Status: Questionable

As someone who has a bad back, I get it. Back injuries can be tricky. But it's difficult to make heads or tails of Michael Pittman Jr.'s injury.

Last week, he was an IR candidate. Then he fully practiced and played against Tennessee. This week, he ping-ponged between DNP and FP. Unfortunately, he ended the week not practicing. Nevertheless, coaches believe he'll be active on Sunday.

He and Josh Downs (toe) both carry a questionable tag into the weekend. Expect Downs to be on the field against the Dolphins as well. Anthony Richardson will be the starting quarterback, downgrading the outlook for both receivers.

JuJu Smith-Schuster (KC) Injury Update

Game Status: Questionable

The Chiefs added JuJu Smith-Schuster to their injury report on Thursday with a hamstring issue. He logged a limited participation on Friday, as well. Coaches believe he'll be on the field against San Francisco.

Smith-Schuster revived his career two weeks ago. He's now the top wide receiver for Patrick Mahomes and will be a high-end WR3 if he's active.

Dontayvion Wicks (GB) Injury Update

Game Status: Questionable

Jayden Reed (ankle) and Christian Watson (ankle) don't have injury designations for Sunday despite limited practices all week. The same can't be said for Dontayvion Wicks (shoulder).

Wicks is questionable. His injury was initially described as "week-to-week" and he was limited in practices. Even if he suits up, he shouldn't be started. He's the fourth receiver on the depth chart with the others healthy.
