Buffalo's biggest challenge on offense this season has been the lack of meaningful receiving options for Allen to reliably throw to. The elite quarterback made due early in the season, completing 75% of his passes with 8.81 yards per attempt through the first three weeks.
Those numbers plummeted over the last two weeks, dropping to a, frankly disgusting, 42% completion rate and 5.27 yards per attempt in those games.
It does not get easier for the passing attack for Buffalo in Week 6. The New York Jets' struggles have been on the offensive side of the ball, as their secondary has been elite through the first five games. Buffalo would need to be more efficient on the ground to help with the lack of connection with the passing game, as the Jets will thrive in must-pass situations on defense.
Since the 2021 season, Robert Saleh's first in New York, the Jets defense is
1st in points per drive
1st in EPA per play
3rd in success rate...despite playing the fourth-most snaps over that stretch.

Jets' quarterback Aaron Rodgers is having his least efficient passing season in his career so far, and running back Breece Hall has been one of the biggest disappointments this season. So far, they have thrived in situations where they can rely on their defense to win.
The problem is that, if Buffalo gets hot as they are capable of being, New York will need to rely on their offense and that is something we haven't seen yet this season.
The Bills win if they make the game their game—a high-flying passing game with efficient running in a high-scoring affair. The Jets win if they make the game their game as well—a low-scoring, ball-control game where the defense makes frequent stops. Styles make fights, as they say, and this should be a very interesting game because of it.
