Fantasy Football Injury Reports For Week 6 (Thursday Updates): Nick Chubb, A.J. Brown, Alvin Kamara, Brian Robinson Jr., Rashid Shaheed, Travis Etienne, Evan Engram, David Njoku, Justin Herbert

Travis Etienne Jr. - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Fantasy football injury updates and injury reports for RB, WR, TE, QB for Week 6 (2024), as of 10/10, including Nick Chubb, A.J. Brown, Alvin Kamara, Brian Robinson Jr., Rashid Shaheed, and more.

The 2024 NFL season has been full of injuries, so most fantasy managers have likely had to navigate key players out of action. Our fantasy football injury reports for Week 6 as of October 10, 2024, will give managers the latest updates around the league.

Some of the banged-up players on this list are at more risk of missing this week's contests than others. Still, fantasy managers should pay close attention to the statuses of Nick Chubb, A.J. Brown, Alvin Kamara, Brian Robinson Jr., Rashid Shaheed, and more. We have the latest updates on these keys guys.

To keep close tabs on all of the news across the NFL, make sure to favorite or bookmark the fantasy football player news page, or download the free RotoBaller fantasy football mobile app with push notification alerts on all the latest news. Let's look at the updates for some top fantasy assets at all positions and see whether they may play in Week 6.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Nick Chubb Injury Update

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (knee) returned to practice last week for the first time since suffering a serious knee injury in last year's Week 2 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The four-time Pro Bowler missed all of training camp and began the regular season on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list. He was eligible to return in Week 5, but he did not.

On the prospect of activating Chubb to the active roster to face the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6, head coach Kevin Stefanski was non-committal, but he did not rule it out. "Anything is possible," Stefanski said. "But I don't want to get too far beyond today."

This is clearly a situation worth monitoring, as it sounds like there is at least an outside chance Chubb could suit up on Sunday. Even if Chubb makes his 2024 debut in Week 6, expectations should be tempered. The team will likely ease him into action and split backfield work between Chubb, Jerome Ford, and D'Onta Foreman (ankle), so unless you're in a tough spot at running back, he can be left on the bench until we see what he looks like.

A.J. Brown Injury Update

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown (hamstring) was seen at Wednesday's practice, according to Brooks Kubena of The Athletic. This is a great sign, as Brown missed the past three games due to a hamstring injury after injuring his hamstring during a Week 2 practice. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the 27-year-old's status throughout the week, but seeing him at practice early in the week is promising.

In the season opener, Brown caught five of his ten targets for 119 yards and a score. If Brown can suit up on Sunday, he should be viewed as a high-end WR1 facing the Cleveland Browns. UPDATE: Brown practiced in full Wednesday.

Alvin Kamara Injury Update

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (hip/hand) was listed as a DNP in practice on Wednesday. Kamara is the No. 1 running back in fantasy and his absence from practice is a huge concern for fantasy managers. Kamara came out of Week 5's tilt with the Kansas City Chiefs banged up and it appears to have carried over into this week. Kamara has rushed for 388 yards and a whopping five touchdowns in 2024. He has added 23 receptions for 214 yards and a receiving touchdown as well. He has looked like the vintage Kamara that fantasy managers know and love.

Fantasy managers should monitor the situation closely to see if Kamara's status for Week 6 is in jeopardy. The Saints offense as a whole is banged up with quarterback Derek Carr (oblique) expected to miss multiple weeks and wide receiver Rashid Shaheed (hip) joining Kamara on the sidelines on Wednesday.

Rashid Shaheed Injury Update

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed (hip) did not practice on Wednesday. This is worth monitoring for fantasy managers as Shaheed has been excellent in 2024. Shaheed has 19 receptions for 338 yards and three touchdowns this season. That includes a game in which he recorded a zero in the box score.

Veterans are often provided rest days on Wednesdays, especially if they have an existing ailment so this could be precautionary. However, fantasy managers will need to pay close attention to this situation leading up to the weekend.

Brian Robinson Jr. Injury Update

Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. (knee) was a DNP at practice on Wednesday. Robinson has been excellent in 2024 en route to 325 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He has added eight receptions for 68 yards. Robinson has thrived with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels propelling the Commanders offense to the top of the league.

His yards per carry average of 4.5 is a carry high and his five rushing touchdowns already match his career high in that category. As such, Robinson has consistently delivered RB2 numbers in fantasy. Hopefully, his absence from practice is simply for rest. However, fantasy managers will need to keep an eye on his practice status over the next couple of days. While the Commanders' matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6 is not ideal for running backs, Robinson would still have a chance at goal-line opportunities.

Travis Etienne Injury Update

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. (shoulder) is on the injury report again in Week 6 after putting in a limited practice on Wednesday. Etienne was also limited in practice all of last week before being active in the Week 5 win over the division-rival Indianapolis Colts, seeing nine touches for 60 yards. He aggravated his shoulder injury and barely played in the second half, watching backfield mate Tank Bigsby once again take over and provide 128 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns.

The 25-year-old Etienne should be fine to play in Week 6 in London against the Chicago Bears, but it's a bad matchup, and he could continue to cede touches to the more productive and explosive Bigsby. As things currently stand, Etienne's fantasy arrow is pointing down. If he's active in London, he'll be a shaky RB2 for fantasy managers at risk of losing more playing time to Bigsby.

Darnell Mooney Injury Update

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney (knee) was a limited participant during practice on Wednesday. While seeing the 26-year-old on the injury report in any capacity is not ideal, fantasy managers should find some relief in the fact that he did manage to get on the field for portions of practice to open Week 6.

Mooney is coming off a big game in which he caught nine of 16 targets for 105 yards and two touchdowns. While that type of production isn't sustainable given that Kirk Cousins won't eclipse 500 passing yards every week, there's no denying that Mooney's role is growing within the Atlanta offense. He should be treated as a WR3/FLEX option going forward.

Evan Engram Injury Update

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram (hamstring) was limited in the first practice of the week on Wednesday. The Jaguars are optimistic that Engram can return to action in Week 6 against the Chicago Bears in London this Sunday after not playing since the season-opening loss to the Miami Dolphins. Engram injured his hamstring during pre-game warmups before Week 2 and hasn't played since.

The 30-year-old two-time Pro Bowler had a career-best 963 receiving yards in 2023 in his second year in Jacksonville, but so far in 2024, he's been a fantasy bust due to his hamstring injury. Engram caught just one pass for five yards in Week 1. If he ends up returning to the field this Sunday in London, he'll be a low-end TE1 in fantasy, at best. Brenton Strange has filled in nicely for the Jags in Engram's absence and has found the end zone twice.

David Njoku Injury Update

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (knee, ankle) was absent from practice on Wednesday. The talented tight end finally returned from an ankle injury in Week 5, but within mere minutes, he picked up a new knee injury. Njoku has yet to play a full game this season, and Wednesday's practice status suggests that he could end up being sidelined for Week 6, too.

If that's the case, Jordan Akins will step up as the Browns' top tight end, ranking as a mid-to-low TE2 in fantasy football.

Justin Herbert Injury Update

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert (ankle) was limited during practice on Wednesday. While a limited status on the first practice of the week isn't anything to panic about, it's a bit unexpected that Herbert is still dealing with his ankle injury on the other side of the Chargers' Week 5 bye.

The 26-year-old has been somewhat underwhelming from a fantasy perspective this year, completing 59 of 91 passes for 578 yards, five touchdowns, and two turnovers. As of now, he's trending toward playing against the Denver Broncos in Week 6 and should be treated as a mid-to-low QB2 for the time being.

Jakobi Meyers Injury Update

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers (ankle) received a DNP tag for his first practice opportunity of the week, but "seems fine," per Vic Tafur of The Athletic. It's a new injury for Meyers, but evidently, fantasy managers have nothing to worry about for now. Star wideout Davante Adams (hamstring) also remained a non-participant, and DJ Turner (hamstring) and Tyreik McAllister (shoulder) were both limited. Tre Tucker is currently the only Las Vegas wideout without a designation.

If Meyers can play, he'll resume his role as the de facto WR1 for the team instead of Adams. If he can't, Tucker will be an upside mid-to-low-end WR3, with he and rookie tight end sensation Brock Bowers in line for elevated usage. The Raiders will get a difficult matchup when they host the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 6.
