Week 2 FLEX Outlooks for Fantasy Football

Jordan Mason, San Francisco 49ers - Fantasy Football Outlook

San Francisco 49ers running back Jordan Mason will draw another start when the team clashes with the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday. Mason catapulted himself into the forefront of fantasy football conversations by shredding the New York Jets' run defense last week as the replacement for All-Pro starter Christian McCaffrey (Achilles).

Mason finished that game with 147 yards on 28 carries and a touchdown while chipping in one reception for five yards. Those looking for an encore to Mason's career day are faced with a Minnesota defense that held New York Giants running backs to 42 yards rushing, 29 yards receiving, and no touchdowns in Week 1.

The Vikings were also quite good against the run in 2023 as well, allowing the eighth-fewest points to running backs in half-PPR. Mason is not CMC, but a Top-10 finish is in play this week even against a quality defense, given the 49ers' perennial commitment to the run game and how sharp it looked last week. Treat Mason as a back-end RB1 in Week 2.

- Brad Beltz, RotoBaller

J.K. Dobbins, Los Angeles Chargers - Fantasy Football Outlook

Los Angeles Chargers running back J.K. Dobbins will look for a repeat performance of his outstanding Week 1 game when the Chargers take on the Carolina Panthers in Week 2. Dobbins played on 58% of the team's offensive snaps in Week 1 and put up 139 yards on 13 touches.

He also ran 17 pass routes and, most importantly, looked completely healthy after injuries forced him to play in just nine games in the past two seasons combined. Dobbins put up his gaudy Week 1 numbers against a Raiders defense that was supposed to be strong against the run.

In Week 2, he gets to face a Panthers defensive unit that allowed the third-most rushing yards in the season's opening week. Dobbins has RB1 upside this week but is more of a high-end RB2 heading into Week 2.

- David A. Marcillo, RotoBaller

Malik Nabers, New York Giants - Fantasy Football Outlook

New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers (knee) was a full participant in Friday's practice and doesn't carry an injury designation into the Week 2 divisional matchup against the Washington Commanders on Sunday.

Nabers popped up on the team's injury report this week after he was limited in Thursday's practice, but fantasy managers should have no worries now that he's in danger of playing this weekend. The 21-year-old is in a bad offense run by quarterback Daniel Jones, but did draw seven targets in his NFL debut, catching five of them for 66 yards in the Week 1 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Expect the LSU product to continue to have a big target share in an offense that will likely be playing catch-up more weeks than not. Against a shaky Washington secondary, Nabers should be in all starting fantasy lineups as a high-end WR2.

- Keith Hernandez, RotoBaller
