Joey Loperfido is a fantasy baseball waiver wire pickup for Week 14 (2024). Target Joey Loperfido as a top prospect free-agent add for fantasy baseball.
BALLER MOVE: Add in Standard Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 5% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Houston Astros outfield prospect Joey Loperfido was promoted back to the major leagues on Friday, June 21, and is worth a look in all standard leagues.
Loperfido made his major league debut earlier this season and posted a solid .333/.381/.436 slash line with one home run and one swiped bag in 15 games.
In Triple-A this season, the Duke product has shown incredible power potential with 13 long balls and an eye-catching .568 SLG in 39 games. However, he did struggle with a poor 21:53 BB:K ratio.

Playing time was an issue for Loperfido during his first trip to the majors, but that may be different this time around. The Astros recently cut ties with Jose Abreu and now have Jon Singleton as the only primary first-base option on the roster. While Loperfido spent most of his time in the minors in center field, he did play games at first, including 11 this season and 19 last summer.
Loperfido could carve out a role at first base as the summer progresses because Singleton has struggled with a poor .216 AVG.
The 25-year-old is worth adding in all standard leagues. He could provide solid outfield and corner infield depth with high-upside power.
