New York Mets starting pitching prospect Jonah Tong dazzled on Thursday evening when he tossed five shutout frames. He stuck out seven and allowed just one hit and three free passes. This was a big bounce-back performance for the 21-year-old as he allowed 11 earned runs in his past 10 ⅓ frames. Tong opened the season with Single-A and tossed 18 ⅔ shutout innings with 36 punchouts. He was then moved up to High-A, where he looked just as stellar in his first 21 ⅓ innings there with a 1.69 ERA but then hit a setback. However, Tong will now look to carry his momentum from Thursday's start going forward. The former 2022 draft pick is ranked as the 20th best prospect in the Mets system on MLB Pipeline and is projected to make his major league debut in 2026. For now, dynasty managers should continue to monitor Tong as he may join Double-A later this summer.--Andy SmithRead More News
