NBA DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks - Today's Top Lineups (1/22/24)

Anthony Edwards - NBA DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Basketball Rankings, Injury News - rotoballer icon

Today's top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings, FanDuel on January 22, 2024. Mike Barner's NBA DFS sleeper picks for building winning DFS lineups.

Monday brings eight games to be played across the NBA. Both DraftKings and FanDuel have decided to include seven of those games in their main slates, leaving out the late game between the Kings and Hawks.

In terms of noteworthy injuries, Zach LaVine (ankle) will be out again for the Bulls. LaMelo Ball (knee), Caris LeVert (wrist), and Isaiah Stewart (ankle) are all listed as questionable for their respective squads.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 1/22/24. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our awesome new NBA injuries report tool as the slate can completely change before lineups lock at 7:00 pm EST. Good luck RotoBallers!

Today's DraftKings, FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Anthony Edwards, MIN vs. CHA – PG/SG/SF ($8,400 DK; $9,000 FD)

The Hornets are a favorable matchup to attack, given that they have the third-worst defensive rating in the league. Edwards, who has a 32.3 percent usage rate and is one of the best scorers in the league, could feast. The only real concern with deploying him is that the Timberwolves could race out to a big lead early, potentially leaving Edwards to spend added time on the bench during the fourth quarter. Still, his upside is through the roof.

Jaden Ivey, DET vs. MIL – PG/SG ($6,700 DK; $7,500 FD)

The Pistons have listed Cade Cunningham (knee) as doubtful for this matchup, meaning that Ivey should remain in his expanded role. Over the last six games without Cunningham, Ivey has averaged 22.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game. That included a matchup against the Bucks on Saturday in which he finished with 18 points, six rebounds, and six assists.

Luke Kennard, MEM at TOR – PG/SG/SF ($5,400 DK; $5,500 FD)

The Grizzlies have been hammered by injuries, so they should play a lot of young players down the stretch. One veteran who has been forced into an expanded role is Kennard, who is one of the few healthy guards that they have left. He has used his added playing time to average 13.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists over the last six games.

ALSO CONSIDER: Damian Lillard, MIL at DET ($9,200 DK; $9,100 FD), Coby White, CHI at PHX – PG ($7,200 DK; $7,700 FD)

Today's DraftKings, FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

RJ Barrett, TOR vs. MEM– SF/SG ($6,900 DK; $7,100 FD)

The trade from the Knicks to the Raptors has proven to be beneficial for Barrett. Over 11 games with his new team, he has averaged 20.2 points, 7.0 reboundsm and 3.6 assists per game. Part of the reason for his improved production is that he has been more efficient from the field, shooting 54.5 percent with the Raptors. He has also played more, logging 33 minutes per game. Look for him to take advantage of this matchup with the injury-riddled Grizzlies.

Alec Burks, DET vs. MIL – SF/PG/SG ($5,400 DK; $6,100 FD)

When Burks gets hot, he can score in bunches. He did just that against the Bucks on Saturday, going 7-for-14 from behind the arc on his way to scoring 33 points. He also chipped in seven rebounds and six assists. Since Cunningham went down, Burks has averaged 21.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists. It’s worth taking a chance on him at his cheaper salaries.

Ausar Thompson, DET vs. MIL – SF/PF/SG ($4,600 DK; $5,300 FD)

This one will require some monitoring. When Stewart was out for Saturday’s game versus the Bucks, Thompson played 32 minutes off the bench. He made the most of his expanded role, recording 22 points, nine rebounds, and one block. If Stewart is out again, the Pistons are going to need Thompson’s length and defensive prowess to try and help protect the paint, so he could play around 30 minutes again.

ALSO CONSIDER: Jayson Tatum, BOS at DAL ($9,700 DK; $10,000 FD), Vince Williams Jr., MEM at TOR – SF/SG ($6,200 DK; $6,700 FD)

Today's DraftKings, FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Jaren Jackson Jr., MEM at TOR – C/PF ($7,900 DK; $8,400 FD)

Jackson is the best scoring option that the Grizzlies have right now. Over his last seven games, he has averaged 26.3 points and 19.0 shot attempts per game. During that span, he also chipped in 6.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game. The Raptors don’t have much size with Jakob Poeltl (ankle) out, setting up Jackson with the potential to thrive.

Brook Lopez, MIL at DET – C ($6,500 DK; $6,900 FD)

Lopez continues to rack up blocks in bunches, posting at least two of them in each of his last six games. He produced one of his better all-around performances of the season against these Pistons on Saturday, finishing with 19 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, one steal, and three blocks over 37 minutes. If the Pistons can keep this game somewhat close, Lopez should play enough to be worth considering.

Naz Reid, MIN vs. CHA – C/PF ($4,900 DK; $6,300 FD)

The Hornets have depth issues up front. Mark Williams (back) is still out and it doesn’t seem like he will be back anytime soon. Nick Richards (ankle), who has missed the last two games, is listed as questionable. If he can’t play, that would leave P.J. Washington to log considerable minutes at center. Add in their defensive struggles and Reid, who has averaged 14.7 points and 5.6 rebounds over his last nine games, could give them trouble. He’s an especially appealing option at his cheap salary DraftKings.

ALSO CONSIDER: Rudy Gobert, MIN vs. CHA – C ($7,400 DK; $8,100 FD), Santi Aldama, MEM at TOR – C/PF ($5,000 DK; $5,900 FD)
