CBB DFS: DraftKings Daily Fantasy College Basketball Picks - Today's Top Lineups (1/9/24)

Mark Sears - CBB DFS Picks, NCAA Daily College Fantasy Basketball

Today's DraftKings CBB DFS lineup picks for 1/9/24. Mike's top daily fantasy college basketball sleepers to build winning NCAA DFS lineups on DraftKings.

We are back up to big slates with college football now over. We have a dozen games tonight, all from power conferences. Seton Hall meets Georgetown in D.C. with an earlier start time, so make sure you have your lineups where you want them a little earlier!

The regular window has the Gamecocks in Tuscaloosa to take on the Tide. Missouri heads to Rupp to face Kentucky. Indiana is in Jersey to face Rutgers. Texas heads to Cincinnati to take on the Bearcats. Houston is in snowy Ames to take on the Cyclones. Kansas State heads to Morgantown to take on a new Mountaineers team. Wake is in Tallahassee to take on the Seminoles. We have the Cowboys in Lubbock to take on Tech. A&M heads to Auburn to try and tame the Tigers. BYU heads to Waco to take on Baylor. We end this in Pittsburgh with Duke in town.

In this article, I will provide you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/9/24, starting at 6:30 pm Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower levels of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

Today's DraftKings Guards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks

Mark Sears, Alabama ($8,100)

Sears is the most accomplished scorer that Alabama has. He's shooting 53% overall and 46.6% from three-point range on the season. Sears is a good defender (10 steals in the last four games) and contributes across the board. The scoring and peripherals give him one of the better floors on the slate. I wouldn't expect a ceiling game against South Carolina, but he has put up his best games against good opponents (Oregon, Purdue, and Arizona).

Hunter Sallis, Wake Forest ($7,700)

Sallis isn't the most efficient guy around, but he's going to get his points whether it takes 12 shots or 24. Sallis has at least 18 points in each of the last five games, with the last three being conference tilts. He's a good rebounder, especially against smaller teams. Florida State is starting to come around after a rough start to the conference season, but it's a tall order to slow down Sallis. Georgia is the only team that held him under 18 in a game that wasn't a blowout.

Tamar Bates, Missouri ($5,700)

Bates has a starting job as long as Caleb Grill is out with a wrist injury. Bates has shouldered a lot of the scoring load vacated by Grill and has done so in an efficient manner. He's a solid rebounder and decent passer, but his true value lies in his scoring ability. As he showed against both Illinois and Kansas, teams that challenge his shot successfully cause Bates to be a DFS bust. There is risk involved here, but the price is right in GPPs.

Xavier Johnson, Indiana ($4,100)

Johnson missed more than a month with a foot injury and was limited in his return against Nebraska a week ago. A strong showing against the Buckeyes on Saturday (18 points in 33 minutes) propelled Indiana to their best showing since the Kansas game. A healthy Johnson made all the difference and I would expect him to run the offense again tonight. He's going to be very highly owned, but Johnson is the value we need. We'll get different elsewhere.

Also consider: Tamin Lipsey, Iowa State ($8,700); Jamal Shead, Houston ($7,800); Kevin Miller, Wake Forest ($7,600); Tyrese Hunter, Texas ($6,400); Chance McMillian, Texas Tech ($5,800); Trey Galloway, Indiana ($5,500); Myles Stute, South Carolina ($5,300); Tyrece Radford, Texas A&M ($4,900); Tre Donaldson, Auburn ($4,600); Langston Love, Baylor ($3,800)

Today's DraftKings Forwards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks

Johni Broome, Auburn ($8,800)

Broome is a bit of a risk since he hasn't played more than 28 minutes in a game this year, but he's a constant double-double threat. He's a high-energy guy when he's on the court and one of the best rim protectors in the SEC. Broome has averaged 42.1 DraftKings points per game in the last three games. A&M is going to make it difficult for him, but not difficult enough for me to move off of him.

Warren Washington, Texas Tech ($7,100)

Washington isn't much of a scorer, but he hasn't missed a shot from the floor in the last two games, giving him double figures in each of those games. Add that to his work on the glass, underrated passing skills, and rim presence (13 blocks in the last four games), and you have one of the better floors in the price range. Washington doesn't score enough to give him a really high ceiling, but he's a must in cash games right now. He has at least 25 DraftKings points in six straight games.

David N'Guessan, Kansas State ($6,100)

N'Guessan is another guy who doesn't rely on scoring for his DFS value. He has at least nine rebounds in three straight games while recording 30 points, a steal, an assist, and six blocks. He's a tenacious defender who helped fuel Kansas State's run to the Elite Eight last season. N'Guessan has been leaned on a little more this year and he has answered the call of late. He should continue to put up good numbers with Jesse Edwards out for West Virginia tonight.

Patrick Suemnick, West Virginia ($3,900)

Suemnick has started the last two games in place of Jesse Edwards and has put up 21 points, 10 rebounds, a block, a steal, and an assist in 55 minutes of court time. That doesn't come close to making up for Edwards, but it does give us 38.5 DraftKings points at a very low price. Suemnick is a solid value since those games were both against tough opponents in Houston and Ohio State. Expect the same output tonight against Kansas State.

Also consider: Mark Mitchell, Duke ($7,700); Dre Davis, Seton Hall ($7,400); Efton Reid III, Wake Forest ($7,000); Yves Missi, Baylor ($6,700); Aziz Bandaogo, Cincinnati ($5,500); Jalen Bridges, Baylor ($5,000); Dylan Disu, Texas ($4,800); Will McNair Jr., Kansas State ($4,600); Hason Ward, Iowa State ($4,100)
