Jeff Wilson Jr. fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 17 (2023). Should you should start or sit Jeff Wilson Jr. for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Sit In 12-14-Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB4/5
ANALYSIS: Miami Dolphins star running back Raheem Mostert (knee/ankle) did not practice on Wednesday and Thursday before turning in a limited practice on Friday. According to Adam Schefter on ESPN, he is not expected to play in Week 17 against the Baltimore Ravens.
With Mostert out of action, rookie De'Von Achane becomes a must-start, despite the tough matchup. However, Jeff Wilson Jr. is now on the fantasy radar. While he's a fine desperation flex option in 14-team leagues or deeper, the veteran is best avoided if possible. Despite Achane missing a chunk of times this year, Wilson only has 40 touches on the season and has not eclipsed 6.0 half-PPR fantasy points in seven of his eight games.
He's a touchdown-dependent dart throw, which is a worrisome outlook at such a crucial time in the fantasy season. Wilson was a popular preseason sleeper, but the Miami coaching staff has seemingly disregarded him up to this point. Don't be surprised if Week 17 brings an Achane showcase, leaving little left on the bone for Wilson.
Due to his cheap price tag, he's a viable flyer in DFS contests, but he's too risky to trust in traditional fantasy leagues.
