Jameson Williams Week 10 Waiver Wire Outlook
Second-year wide receiver Jameson Williams is an intriguing case when it comes to fantasy football. The uber-productive college receiver missed most of his rookie year with injury, catching one pass for a 41-yard touchdown in six games last season.
This season began with a suspension, but he's been slowly worked back into the lineup now. Through four games, Williams hasn't made a huge impact. He's been targeted 15 times, catching six passes for 71 yards and a score.
In the team's most recent game in Week 8, Williams was targeted three times, catching two passes for 16 yards. So far, his receiving yard totals through four games look like this: two, 53, zero, 16. It's been an uneven start for Williams.
Should I Pickup Jameson Williams in Week 10?
I fully believe the talent is there with Jameson Williams. You can really see it on the tough touchdown reception he made back against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The problem is that Williams has been unable to do this consistently. For example, in Week 7 he was targeted six times, but he failed to catch any of those passes.
The team's addition of Donovan Peoples-Jones at the trade deadline also throws a wrench into things. Peoples-Jones has struggled this season in Cleveland, but he had 839 receiving yards in 2022. He's a productive player who should be able to earn snaps in this offense fairly quickly.
All of this makes it tough to see Jameson Williams as a viable fantasy option in the short term. Maybe fantasy managers will just have to hope there's a third-year breakout for the former Alabama star.
