The Arizona Coyotes have agreed to a one-year, $3.9 million contract with defenseman Matt Dumba. The 29-year-old was an unrestricted free agent after finishing a five-year, $30 million deal with the Minnesota Wild, meaning he's settled for a significant pay cut. Dumba had just posted an impressive 50-point campaign with Minnesota right before signing the pact and he failed to live up to it. Last season, the American blue-liner totaled only 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in 79 games. For his entire NHL career, Dumba has managed 236 points (79 goals, 157 assists) in 598 games. A move to the desert gives Dumba a chance for a fresh start, and he should see action in every situation on a blue line that badly needed some extra quality.--Taavi PailkRead More News
