Trent Grisham - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Injury News, DFS Picks

Fantasy baseball hitter streamers and starts for Week 18 of the 2023 season. Dawn Tepper analyzes the top batter streamers to pick up.

Welcome to another week of sifting through top hitter streamers, RotoBallers! We are looking ahead at the top hitter streamers and starts for fantasy baseball Week 18 - Monday, July 24 through Sunday, July 30. For those new to this series, each week, our fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify hitters with good matchups and can be considered waiver wire streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire runs for leagues with weekly transactions.

When you find yourself with a hole in your roster due to injury or otherwise, you need to find a week's worth of solid production from a new addition to your roster. That's where streaming comes in. Today, we will review potential hitters to stream in Week 18. Let's see which ones make the list.

We look into some hitters playing in most games and have favorable matchups to help you stay at the top as the season progresses. As always, check out the rest of our fantasy baseball streamer content after you read this piece!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

What Teams Offer The Most Streaming Value?

There are just four teams playing seven games between Monday, July 24, and Sunday, July 30. Those teams are:

  • Cleveland Guardians
  • St. Louis Cardinals
  • Detroit Tigers
  • Washington Nationals

Other standout matchups feature six games; Colorado, Philadelphia, San Diego, and St. Louis. The Rockies have one of the week's best matchups in Washington, DC, between July 24-July 26, taking on the Nat's in a hitter-friendly park that will see temperatures in the low to mid-90s. San Diego will face five right-handed pitchers next week. Facing righties, four of their sluggers have an over .720 OPS, and three out of those four have home runs in the double digits.

Best Sub-50% Rostered Hitters For This Week

This week, the Rockies, Padres, Cardinals, Brewers, Braves, and Cardinals have games with favorable matchups. Fantasy owners can utilize streamers between teams under 50% rostered.

  • COL @ WAS, July 24-July 26
  • SDP vs. PIT, July 24-July 26
  • MIL vs. CIN, July 24-July 26
  • ATL vs. MIL, July 28-July 30
  • STL vs. CHI, July 27-July 30
  • PHI vs. BAL, July 24-July 26

Week 18 Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers

Nolan Jones, 1B, OF - Colorado Rockies (23% Rostered)

Versus righties for the season, Jones is slashing .280/.368/.530 with six home runs and 15 RBI. He has a .898 OPS, the best in Colorado versus right-handed pitchers. The Rockies have one of the best matchups in the league next week and will face four of six righties, two of which they will face in hitter-friendly Nat's Park.

Brandon Marsh, OF - Philadelphia Phillies (18% Rostered)

In his last five games, Marsh is batting .333/.474/.533, and for the season versus righties, he is .304/.388/.493. Philadelphia will be facing six right-handed pitchers next week, and with his .304 batting average, Marsh has the third-highest average amongst Phillies batters facing right-handed pitchers.

Since going through a slump in May, Marsh is starting to make his way back to form. Post All-Star break, he is batting .333/.481/.524 with a 1.005 OPS. His platoon splits versus right-handed pitchers are .304/.388/.493 with a .881 OPS. Roster him in all your leagues.

Monthly Splits For Brandon Marsh

Monthly Splits - Brandon Marsh (Phillies)

Will Benson, OF - Cincinnati Reds (15% Rostered)

Next week, left-hander Benson and the Reds will go up against six right-handed pitchers. Three of these games will be against the Dodgers, where Benson has a .500/.500/.1000 slash line in two games this season. In his last five games, Benson is batting .333/.444/.933, and for the season is .292/.398/.533. Versus righties, he has a .315/.418/.565 slash line.

After a hot start to the season, the former Guardian went cold and was optioned back to Triple-A. He showed signs of working things out in May, and the Reds called him back up. He's been with the team ever since, and even with his small sample size with Cincinnati, given their schedule, he is worth rostering.

Trent Grisham, OF - San Diego Padres (12% Rostered)

The Padres have six games next week, five versus right-handed pitchers. Left-hander Grisham hasn't had substantial numbers as of late, but he is batting .235/.350/.529 in his last five games, and for the season, his .217/.328/.401 slash line is higher than his final numbers from last year, finishing with .184/.284/.341.

In the last 30 days, Grisham is batting .255/.356/.588 with a .944 OPS versus right-handed pitchers. In July 2022, versus righties, he had a slash line of .177/.289/.333. Grisham's numbers are moving up, and he's worth a look in all your leagues.

Ryan O'Hearn, OF - Baltimore Orioles (10% Rostered)

Since being called up on May 9 from Norfolk, O'Hearn has a .309 batting average with 43 hits, 7 homers, 24 RBI, and 21 runs scored.  Baltimore will be playing six games next week, facing four out of six right-handed pitchers.

In 2023, O'Hearn is batting .304/.351/.500 with a .851 OPS; versus right-handed pitchers, he is .315/.360/.517 with a .877 OPS. After working with O's hitting coaches Ryan Fuller and Matt Borgschulte, O'Hearn has made updates to his hitting stance, which has been a big reason for his offensive breakout. Roster O'Hearn with confidence.
