This article will discuss fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for the outfield in Week 15 - July 3 through July 9. Whether injuries derail your team or you’re ready to give up on your draft day darlings, navigating the waiver wire will be crucial to finding long-term success in fantasy baseball.
As we move through the season, trends fluctuate, and we must learn to react on the fly. When it comes to hot streaks, you must act fast, or you may miss out. This set of outfield-eligible players may not all have the longest track records, or their success could be considered unsustainable. However, you must take risks early in the season to uncover your breakout stars. It will already be too late to wait until these names are established.

Outfield Waiver Wire Adds - Standard Leagues
Nick Pratto, Kansas City Royals - 6% Rostered
Kansas City is on the road all next week, but the pitchers they face are right-handed. Against righties on the road this season, lefty Pratto has a .309 batting average, with a home run and eight RBI in 77 plate appearances.
Pratto is slashing .258/.346/.404 for the season, with a 109 wRC+. Versus right-handed pitchers on the road, in the last 30 days, the Royals are averaging a .244 batting average with nine home runs and 29 RBI. Pratto has been a bit inconsistent, but things are looking up for the outfielder, and a stretch versus right-handed pitchers will get him back on track.
Blake Sabol, San Francisco Giants - 4% Rostered
San Francisco has one of the best schedules next week and will go up against four right-handed pitchers. At home, Sabol is slashing .301/.340/.430, and versus right-handed pitchers, he has a .316 batting average with three home runs and 14 RBI in 82 plate appearances.
Sabol's record versus lefties isn't nearly as impressive, but Austin Gomber isn't very impressive against left-handed batters. Versus lefties on the road, Gomber has a 12.8% strikeout rate, a 10.03 FIP, and 5.12 xFIP. I expect Sabol and the Giants to have a good stretch at home versus Colorado.
James Outman, Los Angeles Dodgers - 33% Rostered
The Dodgers are playing just six games next week, but four are versus Pittsburgh and against all right-handed pitchers. At home against righties, Outman has a .239 batting average with two home runs and 15 RBIs in 104 plate appearances.
His 35% K rate is an issue, but he also has nine homers and eight stolen bases through 70 games this year, showing his potential to be a solid fantasy contributor. A stretch against righties next week could be just what the doctor ordered for Outman.
Tommy Pham, NY Mets - 21% Rostered
Despite the Mets being ten games below .500, Pham has stood out. In the last 15 games, he has had several multi-hit games and is slashing .386/.435/.596. Pham will be facing primarily right-handed batters, but on the road this season versus righties, he has a .280 batting average with a home run and 11 RBI in 61 plate appearances.
Versus the same, he is slashing .280/.393/.520 with a .913 OPS. The Mets have more-than-decent matchups next week, and I expect Pham to be an essential contributor to their success on the road.
Harrison Bader, New York Yankees - 37% rostered
In his last five games, Bader has a .381 batting average with three RBI and four runs scored. At home next week, the Bombers have a good matchup against the Orioles but will face four right-handed pitchers. His record versus righties isn't nearly as good as it is versus lefties, but against right-handed pitchers for the season, he has 3 home runs and 14 RBIs in 103 plate appearances.
In three games versus Baltimore this season, Bader has two hits, a home run, two RBI, and a run scored. At home, later next the week, The Yankees face the Cubs, where in 2022, Bader had a .367 batting average with 11 hits, a home run, three RBI, and eight runs scored in eight games. Good matchups will equal solid at-bats for Bader next week.
