The Miami Dolphins entered the 2022 NFL season with one goal: making the playoffs. After trading for Tyreek Hill in the offseason, the Dolphins sent a clear message to Tua Tagovailoa: either succeed or be replaced.
The message was received, as Tagovailoa had a career year in 2022. He had 3,548 passing yards and 25 touchdowns. Unfortunately, the young quarterback missed multiple games because of concussions.
Tagovailoa missed four games last year and left a couple of others early. More importantly, the young quarterback suffered a concussion in Week 16 against the Green Bay Packers. He missed the final two games of the regular season and the playoff matchup against the Buffalo Bills.

What Are The Miami Dolphins Biggest Needs On Offense?
Miami doesn’t have a first-round pick this year. However, they do have three selections in the top 85 picks. Offensively, the Dolphins have only one massive need: running back. Last year the team used multiple running backs. After signing Chase Edmonds in the offseason, Miami sent him to the Denver Broncos at the trade deadline. They then added Jeff Wilson Jr. from the San Francisco 49ers.
While Raheem Mostert and Wilson played well last season, the Dolphins need to upgrade the running back position. One potential draft target is Jahmyr Gibbs. After starting his career at Georgia Tech, Gibbs transferred to Alabama before last season.
The running back turned into a superstar in his lone season at Alabama. Gibbs had 151 rushing attempts for 926 yards and seven touchdowns. He added 44 receptions for 444 receiving yards and three touchdowns in the passing game.
While the stats are impressive, Gibbs’ performance on the field is more important. He will be an elite weapon in the NFL, thanks to his quickness and excellent vision. Whether on the ground or in the receiving game, Gibbs will be a problem for opposing defenses.
What Are The Miami Dolphins Biggest Needs On Defense?
Miami has already improved its defense after hiring Vic Fangio as defensive coordinator. However, their top need on the field is at linebacker. The good news for New York is that this year’s draft class has several starting-caliber prospects.
One potential draft target is Oregon’s Noah Sewell. The Duck linebacker had 218 tackles in his college career, including 20.5 for a loss.
Sewell would make for an excellent addition in the middle of Miami’s defense.
