Week 2 Quick Hit Wide Receiver (WR) Rankings Analysis

By Edward Gorelik (@EdwardGorelik)

The Steelers defense isn't good. It doesn't look like anything resembling good. If Week 1 becomes the story for the entire season then this will end up being the worst defense in the league at the end of the year.

For now, they'll be trying to regroup against a 49ers team that just came off a surprising win. It's likely that the 49ers don't have the same success jumping out to a lead ahead of the Steelers, and that should bode very well for the #1 passing target in this offense, Anquan Boldin.

Boldin is going to be against Cortez Allen, most likely, who was just terrible in Week 1, allowing a 100% catch rate and finishing second to last in PFF's Week 1 grades. I'd take Boldin as a FLEX option with some upside.

There's going to be a lot of hype for Donte Moncrief this week. That hype is going to come to a halt when everyone realizes that he still needs to develop and that he is going to almost certainly be facing Darrelle Revis this week.

Although a lot of people will peg Andre Johnson as the #1 in T.Y. Hilton's absence, Revis is the best player on the Jets to matchup with Moncrief and the Jets likely realize that too.

Revis already snuffed out Moncrief in the 2014 AFFCG where he covered him one on one in every snap that he played, and he'll see him against this week. I'd say Moncrief should definitely be owned, but think twice before starting someone playing on Revis Island.
