Yahoo! Quarterback - Week 8 DFS Picks

Aaron Rodgers (at ATL, $37)

Aaron Rodgers has had a fairly rough season by his standards and the ones that we've set for him, but he broke out his "slump" last week like he was King Theoden breaking out of Saruman's spell. This week, Rodgers and the Packers will head to Atlanta to face the dirty birds in what is now called the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. This bodes well for A-A-ron as the Falcons allow 294.3 passing yards per game, the second highest total in the league. Atlanta also allows 28.4 points per game, which is the sixth highest amount in the league. With the Packers running game being a shadow of what it once was, with Lacy and Starks both out, look for Rodgers to throw early and often on Sunday as he should pile up the attempts, completions, yards and touchdowns. Even if they don't throw deep there should be enough volume of short passes to pay off handsomely, so join me and get Rodgers in all of your lineups.

Jameis Winston (vs OAK, $35)

When in doubt, go with whomever is playing against the Raiders passing defense because they're softer than a teddy bear. Thus far this season, Oakland has allowed the most total yards and yards per game while also allowing the third highest passer rating. Winston has been up and down this season, but he's also played against some rather tough defenses and he's fresh off a three touchdown game against the 49ers. Look for him to build on that effort and post another strong fantasy line again this week against the Raiders.

Yahoo! Running Backs - Week 8 DFS Picks

Devontae Booker (vs SD, $14)

While the Chargers are actually pretty good against the run this season as they allow just 90.1 rushing yards per game, but I can't help but go with Booker at the low cost of $14. Devontae has shown flashes of brilliance in limited work and now he will be the bell cow for a Broncos team that is a large favorite at home, has a tremendous defense and a rookie quarterback. This leads me to believe that Booker will get a boatload of touches and that he'll be able to do something positive with them. After all, the Chargers defense does allow 26.4 points per game so I wouldn't at all be shocked to see Devontae find the end zone. For just $14 he doesn't need a TD to earn enough points to cover his cost, as I think he'll make value in yardage alone. Everything else will be gravy on top.

Jacquizz Rodgers (vs OAK, $26)

If ain't broke, don't fix it. Since Jacquizz has taken over the lead RB duties for the Buccaneers he's been a workhorse that has pounded out 255 yards on the ground to go along with six receptions and 37 yards through the air over the past two weeks combined. This Sunday he'll face the teddy bear like Raiders defense (as noted above) who have allowed 128.3 rushing yards per game this season. At only $26, I expect Rodgers to deliver solid value again on Sunday with a ton of touches that equate to a lot of yards and a good chance at a score.

Yahoo! Wide Receivers - Week 8 DFS Picks

Ty Montgomery (at ATL,  $14)

I stated earlier that I expected the Packers to pass a lot and that their running game is a shadow of what it was. Montgomery being a Packers RB, it doesn't seem to make sense that I'm also high on him this week until you realize just how much they throw Montgomery the ball, even when he's coming out of the backfield. Because the Packers are mostly working the dink and dunk short yardage-high efficiency passes Ty has received 25 targets over the past two weeks and he's managed to come down with twenty of them. And that's on top of the nine rushes for 60 yards that Montgomery posted as the leading rusher for the Packers just last week. I expect a decent amount of carries again this week (somewhere around 8-12) to go with another 10+ targets. That amount of volume alone is worth $14 and if he finds the end zone he could be in for a yuuuge day.

Julio Jones (vs GB, $39)

In case you haven't noticed the Packers secondary is extremely injured of late and they'll be without several starters again this week as they head to Atlanta to face the high flying Falcons. Because Green Bay's rush defense has been stout against everyone not named Ezekiel, I expect the Falcons to attack through the air this week like the birds of prey that they are (naturally). Julio is about as safe as it gets this week and also has the highest ceiling among all of the wideouts in the fake game. When you combine the highest floor and ceiling good things tend to happen. As a Packers fan, I'll be cheering against him, but when he has a monster day it will sting far less, because I'll be making some money in the daily fantasy game as a result. So I've got that going for me.

Yahoo! Tight End - Week 8 DFS Picks

Jimmy Graham (at NO, $22)

If you're not starting Gronk this week you should be using Graham in a juicy matchup with the Saints in the Mercedes-Benz Super Dome. Wow, Mercedes must be doing really well to have all that naming rights monies laying around. Anyhoo, Jimmy looks like the super star that he was with the Saints a few years ago, and not only is the revenge factor in play (hello, Newman  Narrative), but the Saints defense is also bad at the football. Thus far this season, New Orleans has allowed 297 yards passing per game and 32.5 points per game. Those are the third and first worst marks in all of football. So yea, pretty pretty pretty bad. Take advantage and get Graham into all of your lineups this weekend.

Yahoo! Defense - Week 8 DFS Picks

Dallas Cowboys D/ST (vs PHI, $11)

The Cowboys are a solid favorite in what Vegas projects to be a low scoring game. Not only have the Cowboys had two weeks to plan for this game because they're coming off of a bye, but the Eagles offense has struggled mightily of late. Over his past three games, Carson Wentz has as many touchdowns as he does interceptions. That would be three. In three games. Yikes. I expect Philadelphia to struggle once again and that the Cowboys defense will take advantage of it. At a low cost of $11, Dallas should provide some solid points as a value play and give you a few extra dollars to pay up for the expensive guys that I have listed above.
