Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans is coming off another 1000-yard season despite the offensive struggles of the franchise last year. With Tom Brady retiring at the end of last season and Evans set to become a free agent next year, many speculated that the Bucs would trade their star receiver.
However, that isn't the case, as the Bucs have entertained no trade offers for the 29-year-old wideout. He is in the last year of his five-year, $82.5 million contract that he signed in 2019.
In this piece, we will talk about Evans' future and a possible contract extension with the Bucs.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers want to keep Mike Evans
Many believe that Mike Evans is on the trajectory to make the Hall of Fame, and as per various reports, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers want to keep him. Brad Spielberger of PFF has predicted the seventh overall pick from 2014 to sign a three-year contract extension worth $63 million.
The projected deal sees Evans earn $21 million per year, and the Buccaneers receiver deserves it. He has played nine seasons in the NFL, and not once has he recorded less than 1000 yards. The Bucs also have Chris Godwin and Russell Gage as their primary receivers, but heading into his 10th season in the NFL, Evans remains the main man for his team.
Mike Evans' success will depend on Buccaneers' QB
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have yet to announce their quarterback for next season, with both Baker Mayfield and Kyle Trask competing for the position. However, Mayfield is currently in the lead for the starting quarterback role.
Despite his greatness, Mike Evans will only be able to succeed if the quarterback performs well. Mayfield played decent for the Los Angeles Rams in the latter stages of last season after being released by the Carolina Panthers, and he will hope to continue the same with the Buccaneers in 2023.
