What’s up everyone! Welcome back for your Week 6 fantasy football waiver wire WR options. This week we have a number of options that have emerged, several of whom are likely available in your league and could help out your WR situation.

Below you will find some deeper waiver wire grabs heading into Week 6. Check out my entries from Week 5 as well. If players like Tyrell Williams or Will Fuller are still out there, PICK THEM UP FIRST.

Week 6 Waiver Wire - Wide Receivers (WR)

The Shallow End (Under 50% Owned)

Sammie Coates, WR, PIT – 48% owned on Fleaflicker

Sammie Coates had a dominating week for the Steelers in Week 5, catching 6-of-11 targets for 139 yards and two TDs. He was actually out-snapped in this one by Markus Wheaton (64% versus 58%), but severely out-produced him with Wheaton putting up a line of two catches on three targets for 19 yards. Coates has clearly taken control of the WR2 spot left by Martavis Bryant, which makes sense given the two players have similar skill sets.

It was only a matter of time before Coates had a game this big, given the number of long passes Ben Roethlisberger throws his way each game. His first TD came from 72 yards early in the game, and it was nice to see his second one come in the red zone; a 5-yard TD ending a 12 play drive for the Steelers. He almost had a third TD as well, he dropped a short reception that would have likely gone for a score. Pick up Coates in all leagues; it is clear as the weeks roll on Roethlisberger is becoming more and more comfortable throwing to Coates.

Chris Hogan, WR, NE – 45% owned on Fleaflicker

Well, it didn’t take long for the Tom Brady-to-Hogan connection to develop. Hogan caught 4-of-5 targets for 114 yards as the Patriots dominated the Browns on Sunday. We were unsure how the return of Brady would affect all of the Patriots WRs, but if things stay like this game moving forward it looks like Hogan will have a prominent role in this offense over Danny Amendola. He logged the second most snaps (61%) of any Patriots WR behind Julian Edelman (74%), while Amendola came in at third (26%).

The offense has a ton of other weapons, so don’t count on production like this on a week-to-week basis from Hogan. However, if you’re looking for someone to fill a bye week void Hogan would be the perfect target. He suffered a head injury and had to be taken off the field twice, but he was able to return to the field each time and remain in the game.

Eddie Royal, WR, CHI – 47% owned on Fleaflicker

When the Bears lost Kevin White, there were more targets to go around for the entire offense. Royal was expected to benefit from this, and did somewhat catching seven passes for the second straight game for 43 yards. Royal has had stretches like this in his past, only to fall back to earth. However, it looks like Royal will continue to stay in a prominent role in this offense.

Brian Hoyer has shown he would rather make the safe pass rather than take a shot down field, which helps Royal’s case. He was second on the team with nine targets on Sunday, one week after receiving seven targets. Volume will not be an issue for Royal as long as Hoyer remains the starter. Kevin White’s absence opens up doors for the other weapons in this offense.

Kenny Britt, WR, STL – 21% owned on Fleaflicker

Kenny Britt has been the most consistent member of the Rams offense all season. On Sunday he had another solid performance, catching five passes on six targets for 75 yards. While it is his teammate Tavon Austin who has dominated the team lead in targets, Britt has been more productive. He is tied for the team lead with 23 receptions, and leads the team with 356 receiving yards.

Passing TDs are hard to come by in this offense with Case Keenum playing QB, but as long as he keeps getting consistent targets Britt will have value. Look for him to continue his consistent play as the season moves on. The Rams have consistently been close in every game they have played, so they should continue to throw the ball around with Britt being a big benefactor.

The Deep End (Under 15% Owned)

Adam Thielen, WR, MIN - 3% owned on Fleaflicker

With Stephon Diggs out, Adam Thielen stepped up in a huge way catching 7-of-8 targets for 127 yards and a TD in the Vikings win over the Texans. Thielen led the team in targets and was easily the most productive member of the offense. When Diggs is on the field his involvement in the offense will obviously decrease, but hopefully this solid performance will lead to an increased usage moving forward.

Cameron Meredith, WR, CHI – 3% owned on Fleaflicker

Cameron Meredith was the biggest benefactor of the spot opened up by the injury to Kevin White. Meredith led the team with 12 targets, catching nine passes for 130 yards including a TD. He played his largest number of snaps this season, leading all WRs at 95% (63 total). As long as Hoyer remains the starting QB, look for Meredith to continue getting plenty of action.

Jeremy Kerley, WR, SF – 9% owned on Fleaflicker

Jeremy Kerley was dominant on Sunday for the 49ers, catching 8-of-13 passes for 102 yards and a TD. This is the second straight game with a TD for Kerley, who has completely separated himself from the rest of the WRs in San Francisco. He and Blane Gabbert have shown excellent chemistry right form the get go this season, with Kerley dominating the targets. He is the only WR worth owning in this offense.

Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, MIN – 6% owned on Fleaflicker

Cordarrelle Patterson was the hot WR to own a few years ago, but he was never able to put his physical attributes together and use them to his advantage. This season he is slowly seeing his usage increase from returning kicks, to last week when he rushed once for seven yards and caught four-of-six targets for 39 yards and a TD. If he can finally put it all together, Patterson could have big potential in this offense. He is a big wild card, but at 6% owned you’re taking little risk for big upside.

Marquise Goodwin, WR, BUF – 8% owned on Fleaflicker

Marquise Goodwin has been good for a long catch every few games this season, but this past week was a little different. Goodwin was tied for the team lead with six targets, catching two passes for 13 yards and a score. While that stat line seems unimpressive, it is good to see Goodwin being used in this fashion. With Sammy Watkins in the picture Goodwin was mainly used as a deep threat, but if he can still hold that role and catch more of these short-to-intermediate passes, he could have solid value in deep leagues.
