Who Should I Start for Fantasy Football Week 16? DeMario Douglas, Jalen Coker, Marquez Valdes-Scantling

DeMario Douglas - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL DFS Picks

Who should I start for Week 16? Fantasy football outlooks for DeMario Douglas, Jalen Coker, Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Our expert fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks.

New England Patriots wide receiver DeMario Douglas, Carolina Panthers wide receiver Jalen Coker, and New Orleans Saints wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling are three WRs you could consider putting in your starting lineups this week.

You may not be excited about having any of the three on any of the spots on your rosters unless you're playing in a deep league, but injuries or lack of depth could be forcing you to choose between waiver options, unfortunately.

So, we'll break down each of these three players and whether you should fire them up for Week 16.

Should I Start DeMario Douglas for Fantasy Football?

We wouldn't recommend it. The Patriots offense has been miserable this season, and despite quarterback Drake Maye showing great promise, Douglas has scored an average of under 8.0 PPR points per game in his last eight contests. There simply isn't enough production to trust him.

We believe he's a talented player, but the Pats have the worst offensive line in the league, which has been destroying the value of all their players in fantasy football. Maye just can't get into rhythms and rarely has time to throw the ball down the field. And there's no solid outside WR option to take coverage attention away from Pop.

Should I Start Jalen Coker for Fantasy Football?

He scored a long touchdown on a busted coverage against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 15, giving him his first game over 100 receiving yards in his career. In deeper leagues, he's a fine start, given that he logged 87-88% of offensive snaps in his last two games.

Playing time is king for waiver wire receivers, and with so little tape to evaluate, it's all we can go off. If fellow rookie WR Xavier Legette (hip) isn't able to play in Week 16, Coker should get a nice boost and move into the low-end WR3/flex range.

Should I Start Marquez Valdes-Scantling for Fantasy Football?

We wouldn't recommend starting MVS, who must face the tough Green Bay Packers defense in Week 16. He was targeted seven times last game, but came up with just two catches for 64 yards. Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak is fantastic at scheming his WRs open downfield, but NO's QB1, Derek Carr (hand, concussion), is out for the year.

We wouldn't be surprised to see plenty of uncatchable targets for Valdes-Scantling in his next game. The poor QB play in a tough matchup makes him hard to trust.
