Alvin Kamara is a Saints legend. Despite averaging just 13.3 carries per game throughout his career, he is by far the Saints' all-time leading rusher and has scored more total touchdowns than anyone else in franchise history.
He was on his way to having his first 1,000-yard season in 2024, but a groin injury caused him to miss the last three games of the campaign. Kamara's numbers declined across the board in 2025, and he has been on the shelf since suffering an injury in Week 12.

Alvin Kamara Injury Update
Alvin Kamara had a solid start to the year, as he was the PPR RB15 after the first two weeks. However, his production fell dramatically in his next seven games, as he averaged just 50 yards from scrimmage per game and went scoreless during that stretch.

His snap count also went down, as the Saints gave opportunities to Kendre Miller and Devin Neal following Miller's injury.
But just as everyone started to doubt him, Kamara proved he still had it during an excellent Week 10 showing against Carolina. He racked up 115 yards from scrimmage to help New Orleans to a shocking victory and was looking to build on this game for the rest of the season.
Unfortunately, he sprained his MCL against the Falcons in Week 12 following the team's bye week. He's also dealing with an ankle injury, and these two injuries have caused him to miss the Saints' last two games.
It's still unclear when Kamara will be back. According to Saints reporter Mike Triplett, head coach Kellen Moore said Kamara is "questionable" for the game against the Panthers, and they'll see how he responds to treatment as the week progresses.
Alvin Kamara Fantasy Football Outlook
The Saints have been eliminated from playoff contention, but they're still not a team to underestimate. They've defeated the Panthers and Buccaneers over their last four games, the only two teams that are still alive in the NFC South title race.

The Saints will play the Panthers again in Week 15, before an easy end to their season as they'll face off against the Jets, Titans, and their arch-rival Falcons.
On paper, this is a great opportunity for Kamara to bounce back and prove he's still in his prime; however, many Saints fans believe the team should move in a different direction.
Devin Neal has been a revelation, recording 214 yards from scrimmage in his last three games, and finding the endzone in his team's upset win over the Bucs in Week 14.
He has racked up 36.4 PPR points in that three-game span, more than established stars such as Saquon Barkley, Jonathan Taylor, and D'Andre Swift.
Kamara might be healthy enough to play in the team's final stretch, but since the Saints don't have anything to play for, it's unlikely that he'll receive his typical workload if or when he returns.
