Samuel Basallo Prospect Update for Fantasy Baseball
Basallo made his Triple-A debut last summer but struggled during his first look. Across his first 21 games with Norfolk, the backstop held a modest .222/.267/.370 slash line with three doubles and three home runs.
However, this season, Basallo has been able to turn the corner quite quickly. Through 46 games, Basallo has posted an elite .266/.374/.589 line with six doubles, 15 home runs, and a 45:27 K:BB.

Samuel Basallo Outlook for Fantasy Baseball
On Saturday, the Orioles placed starting catcher Adley Rutschman (oblique) on the 10-day IL with an oblique strain. While they did not opt to promote Basallo in this transaction, another few weeks of dominance on the farm could push their hand.
Given his elite power upside at the catcher position, Basallo should be viewed as a top stash candidate in all formats heading into Week 13. If the Orioles continue to struggle and Rutschman's injury lingers, Basallo could have a path to reaching the majors in a matter of weeks.
