When Is Deyvison De Los Santos Getting Called Up? Fantasy Baseball Prospect Outlook (Week 6 Update)

Fantasy Baseball Prospects, Waiver Wire Stashes, MLB Rookies Call-Ups Sleepers

When is Deyvison De Los Santos getting called up? Will De Los Santos get promoted in May 2025? Read about this top fantasy baseball prospect outlook heading into Week 6.

Miami Marlins top prospect Deyvison De Los Santos has showcased plenty of raw power in his time in the minors. After the instant success of Marlins' slugger Agustin Ramirez, could the Marlins add another young masher to the heart of their order soon?

De Los Santos was acquired by the Marlins last summer as part of the A.J. Puk trade from the Arizona Diamondbacks. He was snagged by the Guardians in the Rule 5 Draft in 2023 but returned to Arizona, where he absolutely raked in the minors last year. He has slowed down a little this year, but the Marlins have more offensive needs and could move De Los Santos to the majors soon.

When exactly are the Marlins going to call up De Los Santos? Can we expect him to make his debut in May, and if he does, will he have an instant impact like Ramirez? Let's dive in and find out.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Deyvison De Los Santos Prospect Update for Fantasy Baseball

After De Los Santos was not protected from the Rule 5 Draft last season and then not kept by the Guardians, he didn't seem to be on the verge of a breakthrough. He hit only .227 with a .238 wOBA in spring training for Cleveland in 2024 and wasn't ranked on any of the main top prospect lists going into the 2024 season.

He had a huge 2024, though, leading the minor leagues with 40 homers and 120 RBI while hitting .294 with a .392 wOBA while playing in Double-A and Triple-A for the D-backs and Triple-A for the Marlins. He returned to Jacksonville to start the 2025 season and stumbled early on.

Despite his outstanding raw power and excellent exit velocities as high as 116 mph, his undisciplined plate approach has held him back. He had a 46 percent chase rate -- matching the worst percentage in the big leagues.

Lately, though, De Los Santos has shown significant improvement. In just eight games to start the year, he quickly piled up 16 strikeouts with just three walks. However, over the next 24 games, De Los Santos had 26 strikeouts and seven walks at a much better ratio and rate. In those 24 games, he also kept hitting very well, batting .287 with three home runs, three stolen bases, and a .356 wOBA.

His tape-measure home runs are always great highlights:

Since he's still just 21, De Los Santos has time to continue to develop and improve his approach. Since the Marlins could use more thump at the corner infield spots, he could get the call soon.

Deyvison De Los Santos Outlook for Fantasy Baseball

When De Los Santos does arrive, he should provide good power numbers with homers and RBI. He will likely get time at both 3B and 1B, making him valuable with flexible eligibility.

While he doesn't demand a stash at this point except in very deep leagues, he will be a great addition if you need power production from a corner infield spot once he gets called up. If you missed out on Ramirez, you could get a second chance to grab some Miami power when De Los Santos receives the call, which could be as soon as later this month.
