Evan McPherson, Bengals - Fantasy Football Outlook
The Cincinnati Bengals agreed to terms on a three-year, $16.5 million contract extension with kicker Evan McPherson on Friday, according to his agents. McPherson will earn $10 million in new money in the first year of the deal, the most ever for a three-year kicker extension.
The 25-year-old former fifth-round pick in 2021 out of Florida earned his extension by making 83.9% of his 93 field-goal attempts in his first three seasons in the NFL with the Bengals, including going 126-for-132 on his extra points in 49 regular-season games. McPherson went 26-for-31 on field goals and a perfect 40-for-40 on extra points in 17 games for Cincy last year.
All five of his missed FGs in 2023 came from over 50 yards out. With quarterback Joe Burrow (wrist) back from injury, McPherson should be drafted as a top-12 fantasy kicker in 2024.
Brandon Aubrey, Cowboys - Fantasy Football Outlook
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey picked up where he left off last season in the first Cowboys preseason game, kicking four field goals in five tries. Aubrey's made kicks came from 30, 36, 38, and 52 yards out, while his miss was from 65.
Aubrey was the top scoring kicker in most fantasy formats last season, and even in fantasy football's most volatile position, there's no reason to think he won't be at least top-five again this year.
Dustin Hopkins, Browns - Fantasy Football Outlook
The Cleveland Browns and kicker Dustin Hopkins have agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. It's a well-deserved payday for the veteran kicker as he cashes in following the best season of his career.
Over 15 games in 2023, he made 33 of 36 field-goal attempts (91.7%) while going 24-for-26 on extra points (92.3%). He ultimately finished as the No. 9 kicker in terms of fantasy points despite missing two games. Hopkins represents a solid draft pick in the later rounds of 2024 fantasy drafts.
